EMH ? - beginning of our trip

We will be staying at YC from 1/13 to 1/17. Plan to buy a three day park hopper (through meeting we're attending) and start our time in the parks on Friday morning. Epcot has EMH at night on Thursday. Can we get in as resort guests even though our tickets will start the next day? That detail hasn't been clear to me. In other words, can we add three hours free at the start of our trip?

In order to take advantage of EMH, you must have valid park admission, in addition to being a guest at a Disney resort. So, if you go to EMH on your first night, you will use a day off your pass.
