EMH before check-in?

We are flying in late on a Thurs. night and staying off site, checking in on Fri. at WL. We'd like to go to EMH at Blizzard Beach before we check in. Obviously we won't have our room key card yet. Would the reservation confirmation be enough to get us in?

Go to the resort BEFORE you go to the EMH.

Even though your room might not be ready (it even MIGHT be) you can get your room keys (and leave any bags that you don't need with the bell service).

That way you'll HAVE the proper ID and you'll have no problems.

There is a POSSIBILITY that since your room ressies are in the computer, you could go to guest services at the WP and they could "get you in", but you wouldn't KNOW that until you tried.

It would only take a little "extra effort" to go to the hotel at some point before your trip to the WP and do it the SURE way.

I don't know how set your ressies are, but if you stayed on property Thursday night (maybe a value resort), you'll definitely be okay. Plus, Disney will then move all your luggage for you, & you'll have much less work on Friday morning.

You'll need that room ID to get into the water park early. Check in at the resort (you can do that as early as 6 or 7AM). Leave your stuff with bell services and then head over to the water park. You'll still get into the park before everyone else.

Maybe that's what I'll do, stay at a value resort for Thurs night, then transfer to WL. Will I have to check in again at WL, or can I handle the check-in stuff just once the first night at the value?

We drove from TN in 2004 and arrived at POP at 3am. We were able to check our bags, get checked in, leave and go to WalMart and arrive back to do EMH at MGM. We came back to room around 4pm and were able to clean up before dinner.

Oh, boy. I thought I had this figured out, but I just thought of something. If I stay at a value on Thurs night, go to the waterpark early Fri a.m., with young kids we'd probably be ready to head back to the hotel, WL, 3 in the afternoon or so. What are the chances of our room being ready that early? I can just see us now. Wet, tired kids hanging around waiting for our room to be ready. Would you chance it?

I guess I could stay two nights at the value, but I really would rather not. And I was hoping to avoid the waterpark on the weekends. We're leaving Mon. morning.

Well, the rooms are supposed to be ready by 4:00, so you're at least close. Plus, you checked in at 6:00 a.m., so you might be first on the list to get a room that's ready. They also give you a number to call & find out if your room is ready or not- you could just keep checking that number, and head over to the WL once your room is ready.

Alternately, if you didn't want to keep calling (or don't have a phone), you could just head straight for the WL pool. It's no waterpark, but it's still fun, and beautiful.

Disney will transfer your luggage, but you will have to check in at the WL to get your room key, etc.
As noted, you MIGHT get a room right away. We normally arrive around 9:30-10:30am and almost always get a room. It depends on a lot of factors like the season you are arriving as well as the day. During the week I believe you have a much greater chance of getting a room right away rather than the weekend.

We usually check in around 11AM also and have gotten a room everytime except once at the GF when there was a convention.

Just remember to pack a separate bag with a change of clothing.
