We have never done EMH. I was thinking on our (just me and the girls) last day, Sun. June 14, doing the EMH at MK, the park will be open until 2am. So will this be where you just walk-on rides or is it still very busy. Just need a little imput from someone who has been that late. TIA

ive been int he park that late and ive realized that it isn't that bad, all the rides were pretty much walk on

Evening EMH tends to be crowded at the beginning but by the last hour most rides tend to be walk ons.

For example, on our last trip MK EMH started at 10pm right after Wishes.
We watcjed Wishes from Fantasyland and then immediately headed over to Haunted Mansion. We were on the ride within 10 minutes. When we got off the ride the wait time had jumped to 30-45 minutes. By midnight the ride was almost a walk on. At 12:30 we headed over to POTC. This was a walkon. Then headed over to splash which was also a walkon. We got off that and still had 5 minutes to get in line for BTMRR which still had about a 20 minute standby... people were still showing up with FP.

Agreed - the later you stay, the less crowded it is. I was actually surprised last year when MK was open till 12 and have EMH till 3:00am, that at midnight there were still tons of people there including small children. It really didn't start to thin out till about 1:00. By park close, it was pretty empty. Definitely worth doing if you can stay up!

We managed a trip in January and there was EMH at the MK till 3 am. We didn't tour long during the day, had a good pool lunch and long nap and didn't go back to the MK until 9 pm or so. As the night wore on, less and less people were evident, petering out fast as mid night approached, by 1am hardly anyone but it's a real push staying up that late, made the next morning an off day and sleep in.

I agree with other posters that in my experience as well the crowds thin in the later hours. The actual crowds will vary though.

At MK, some attractions will be walk on, but others may still have lines. For some reason Peter Pan is popular with the late night crowds.

What's fun is if they are offering Fastpass. Seeing a Fastpass with a return time of 1:10am is just a hoot!

Typically, they offer such late hours whent he daytime crowds are high, so it may well be to your advantage if you can stay that late.

Plus I just love the parks after dark. They have a different feel.

WOW, 2am???

IS this only a summer schedule?
I go the first week of December and the EMH are NOT that extended!!!

we were there last year on east weekend at the parks and the emh were till the same time and after 11 we were able to walk on every single ride! and easter is one of the busiest times of year!

We're going through Florida on our way to the beach. I was dying to stop into the Magic Kingdom, but don't do theme parks in the summer heat. So it dawned on me that an EMH would be perfect! We're going in early evening June 7th. And since it's our only stop there, we'll definitely be staying til park close.......

DH and I went to EMH at MK on Sun May 3rd. We got there around 11:30 and walked on everything. People were even staying on Splash and BTMRR for second rides. EMH was from 11-2am.

The lines for the rides were short, but I was really surprised at the long line for a dole whip.

I'm not! We ate really early last December before the Christmas party, and by midnight we were desperate for something to eat and nothing was open!

I was at MK on Xmas night a couple of years ago with my 2 GD's, and at 2AM we were the only ones in POTC, there was nobody. Talk about eerie. There was no one ahead or behind us. As PP's have said, the later the hour, the fewer the people. I always recommend that if you're traveling with teens, use the late night EMH's.pirate:

I always wondered if you enter the part after midnight, how does it not take another days use off your pass???

I agree. I think if there is one small chink in Disney's plan; it's that there are very limited late night food options. After EMH, we are often a bit hungry. By the time you get back to the resorts especially the food courts are long closed.

I did notice recently that CR had vending machines, maybe some of the others do as well now. I don't recall seeing them at Pop last year, but maybe they had soda machines.

This is one reason why we always try to keep at least a few snack foods on hand in our room. Often at WDW, it is not possible to save leftovers - but an extra bag of chips, or an extra apple can be great.

My other suspicion is that Disney closes down the food options in order to get folks to leave the park. Stop offering folks food - and they will leave an area. Give folks late night food, and they will hang out all night. Most folks will follow their bellies. :lovestruc:banana:
