EMH at HS - all Fridays in July/August 2018

For those staying onsite and wanting to get more chances to ride the new HS rides - not sure if you’ve all noted that HS has Extra Magic Hours listed from 10.30pm to 12.30am every Friday in July and August...

It’s great isn’t it? I just hadn’t really seen anyone talking about the potential to stay later too. Just not sure how this will work if there is still a 60min line for SDD. Does anyone know how the EMH ‘stayers’ will be treated for riding that? Will we just have to get on the end of the huge line?

Yes. During EMH evening hours they stop allowing those not staying onsite to join ride lines but those already in them are allowed to still ride and would be ahead of you. They don’t use the FP que or anything if that’s what you were hoping.

The morning EMH every day at DS should work about as well as it did at AK the last two months - which is to say that it should work very well. A good time to rope drop Slinky Dog or get numerous rides in on ToT and RnRC. Hitting DHS on a day when another park has morning EMH is a good strategy since that seems to thin the crowd (at least in my experience when AK did this).

The evening EMH (particularly the second hour) will help, too, but maybe not as much for the reason mentioned above - you'll still have non-resort guests getting in line right up to closing and so the first part of evening EMH is still clearing the queue of those guests as well as any last FPs. Something else to note is that the last three Fridays in August are MNSSHP nights, so I'd expect higher crowds at the other parks on those nights - particularly DHS with the extended hours.
