EMH and peak times

From what I understand, during peak times (eg Christmas, easter, summer, etc) the parks are open longer hours. I see that in the last 2 weeks of December MK even opens at 8.00am. My question is in regard to the value of EMH during these peak times. We will be at DW in April 09 (13th - 19th) and that seems like it will be a peak time. So will the parks be open earlier and closer later anyway? How much earlier can you get there with EMH? For example if a park opens at 8.00am, would the EMH be from 7am?? I doubt I could have my kids ready to be there by 8am, much less 7am!

Disney posts the actual park hours. If there is an EMH scheduled for that day, YOU have to figure out the park hours. Example: If MK is scheduled to be open 8 am with an EMH (AM). The park actually opens at 7 am for Disney Resort Guests to enjoy the EMH. Same with the evening. If the park is on the calendar to close at 11 pm and has an EMH (PM). It will actually close at 2 am for Disney Resort Guests. However, during EMH (PM) non-resort guests are NOT ushered out of the parks. They MAY stay in the parks. They just can't ride any of the rides. Upon entering the park, Resort Guests are given a wristband for EMH (PM). You must present a KTTW card for each member in your party. They usually start issuing wristbands two hours prior to EMH (PM).

EMH (AM) - Park opens ONE hour prior to posted time
EMH (PM) - Park closes THREE hours after posted time
