EMH and bus crowds

Hi. They didn't offer the evening EMH when we were there in '04. I've been stressing about the whole bus departure after Wishes since we'll have 4 kids, plus strollers. It was quite difficult with only 3 kids, and now we have another to juggle!!

Anyway, do you think that the resort buses are more manageable on the nights for the EMH? Do the extra hours spread out the guests more, or doesn't it really make a difference for the bus crowds?

I'm not sure that we'll be able to stay late for the EMH (park closes at 9), so we'd want to leave soon after Wishes. Will it be easier, or the same mad rush?

Does it really empty out for those hours? I guess it would be nice to stay late one night if it's worth it. As long as that doesn't mean CARRYING four sleeping children plus strollers on the bus LOL.

TIA

This is a good question. I don't have a definite answer but will give you my thoughts.
Looks like you will be going in early October, which should be a pretty quiet time. Last June my DS and I watched Wishes (not an EMH night) and instead of joining the mobs exiting down Main Street we just sat down on a bench near the castle. After 15-20 minutes we slowly walked to the bus station and it was very peaceful.
For an EMH night most of the non-Disney resort guests will be leaving after Wishes, although they don't have to leave the park....they just cannot do any rides or attractions without the EMH wristbands. Of course, none of the off-site guests would be going on a Disney bus. If your kids can take it I would try another hour in the park. Since the EMH runs for three hours people leave at different times so you should have no problem at the bus stop. Even if you leave right after Wishes you should be good.
I'm interested in seeing what others have experienced in this situation.

Thank You. I'm such an obsessive planner...here I am even planning our exit strategy, eight months in advance. :rotfl2:
Don't feel bad -- I'm there with you. ;)

I like the idea of not trying to hurry to the buses (my first reaction). This year I think I will try to just hang around for a while and then walk (not dash) back to the buses. By then, I would hope that the bus lines would be a bit more manageable. :flower:
