We have a gc but will be with our 23month old. How child friendly is Emeril's if we do lunch or early dinner? We have to pay for parking, right?
Thanks in advance...

I personally wouldn't take a child that small to Emeril's. I don't think it is very child friendly, it is more fine dining style if that makes sense.

We took our DD's to Emeril's for lunch last time we were at Universal. They were 5 1/2 and 23 months at the time, and they did fine. We went early (about 11:30) and asked to be seated not in the middle of the restaurant. We did make reservations in advance. They have kids' menus and hats for them to wear. The kids liked the food, and they did not bother anyone. I wouldn't go at 8:00 at night (of course, we wouldn't go to McDonald's with our kids at 8:00 at night!), but going early you should be fine. They see a lot of kids there since it is in Orlando - it is probably the best city for you to go to Emeril's with your kids!

One tip - they do not have kids' cups (at least not when we were there), just the regular glasses with no top. You might want to bring your own cup for your child - we had a few nervous monents with the milk that could have been prevented with a sippy cup! Fortunately no spills, but two nervous parents everytime DD2 took a drink!

Enjoy your lunch or dinner! It's very good! :thumbsup2

Forgot to add -

At least at lunch, you can get two hour valet parking for free to eat at City Walk. I think that is also true for dinner, and it seems like parking at City Walk might be free after a certain time (6:00?). We did not pay for parking to go to Emeril's.

Enjoy!

It really depends on your child. The meal can last 2 hrs., at least at dinner. Some kids are fine with that & others aren't. It's really not a place to take fidgety kids who like to talk really loud & run around though. We've seen small children there, as well as taken our DS when he was very young. As a matter of fact, we sat next to a family with 2 kids around 2 yrs. old last week. They were well behaved & appeared to be accustomed to fine dining establishments. On the other hand, we also saw a family arrive last week with a child around 4 or 5. She was jumping around like crazy, when she came in. I was actually relieved, when they left for whatever reason. If a child can't stand still while the parent checks in, they probably won't do well with a 2 hr. meal. Only you know how your child will react. Enjoy your trip, whatever you decide. :)

great info everyone, thanks!!! we were supposed to go in Feb when grandma was along to babysit but ds got sick and then time ran out:( if all else fails i guess i can order some cool cooking gadget from his website with the gc. but i love fresh produce(clothing store) at citywalk, it's a good excuse to go there too!!!
