Emeril's & City Walk with 3yr old?

I'm debating between Downtown Disney (where we always go) and City Walk (never been) for the evening before we go to IOA. I've never been to Universal but I'd like to know if Emeril's is appropriate for a 3yr old or is it too adult oriented. I've only been to the one in New Orleans and I would not be comfortable bringing my DD3. How is City Walk? Is it like Downtown Disney or more like the old Pleasure Island. Is it appropriate for my DD3?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would think Citywalk would be appropriate for a three year old. There is a small carousel and if into arcade games - several of those around. If warm out, there is a interactive fountain (flat part of the sidewalk with holes of intermittent spouts of water) that the kids like to play in. There are always a ton of children in Citywalk as the only way to exit the parks is through Citywalk.

Emerils - It would depend on your three year old. I personally would not have felt comfortable bringing my kids there at three and they were seasoned restaurant goers at the time.

I had brought my 4yr old to Emeril's on one of our trips to USO and he loved it! There is a kids menu with wild variations on regular favorites like Pizza, chicken, Pasta...etc. call the resturant ahead and they can tell you whats up. We lucked out by having a funny as heck waiter and he brought my son his personal pizza and together they gave a hearty "BAM" as they tossed grated cheese on the pizza...my son was hysterical...they also made him chocolate milk upon request and brought him ice cream for dessert....the resturant is bright and wide open unlike the New Orleans one (been there too...very sophisticated) The place is really geared toward vacationing families and offers a huge variety of food options...It might be worth checking out...but if you don't...thats ok too! Hope this was some help!:cool1:

Just to echo, Citywalk is fine for kids. The clubs are all off the main path and I've never seen anything inappropriate in the main walkway area.

We have seen some young kids at Emeril's. They were all well behaved, & fit right in. I agree that it depends on the child. If your child is used to going to restaurants that require them to sit nicely for a couple hours, it will be fine. We were taking our son to places like that at 3, & he has been going to Emeril's at CW since the year it opened. He was a little older then though. IMHO, Emeril's @ CW is a place that noone would bat an eye at seeing a well behaved 3 yr. old. However, it's not a place to take any child that needs to be entertained or likes to run around during dinner. Only you know which category your child fits into. FYI, I'm referring to dinner. I would think the atmosphere would be even more child friendly at lunch.

A 3year old might enjoy Bubba Gumps a bit more (though it's doubtful he'd "get" the movie references). It's very family, and the waitstaff is incredibly enthusiastic and friendly. Lots of stuff hanging on the walls to keep his attention, kids coloring menus, fun drinks and desserts, etc.

thanks a lot for all the info. It's really given me insight to CW. Must talk to DH and decide on Emeril's.

Thanks again.
