Emergency Evacuation Procedures at Disney's Polynesian Villas

Yes, there is a degree of personal responsibility with travel. However, at the time of check-in, the only available rooms were located on the second and third floor. As I am sure you know, first floor requests are noted but not guaranteed. To guarantee a first floor room, we have been regularly told that one would need to book a handicapped accessible villa. Unfortunately, DVC resorts do not offer the Florida Special design that is offered on the regular resort side. All DVC handicapped accessible villas have roll in showers, the Florida Special design has a shower with multiple support rails. We need the rails, not the roll-in design, so we do not book the DVC accessible villas..
I do need a roll in shower. When I book the room I am asked if I need a Rollin shower or a tub with grab bars. This has been at OKW,BWV,SSR, AK and BLT. Do some of DVC not have that option?
Because I use a Powerchair and don't ambulate I would be very anxious about getting out. I wonder if I should ask at check in what the evacuation plan for wheelchair users is.

Did guests have problems with all the sliding doors, or just the one?

We did have a voicemail on our resort phone that stated that the power would be out for 30 min.
When I talked to a manager at the resort she stated that the power outage was planned but was only suppose to be very brief and not hours long (they encountered a problem according to her.)
Perhaps the voicemail and the manager where wrong but I was just reporting the information we were given.
