I'm happy you found a safe place for Toby! HOORAY!!

I'd love to take him but my DH would send ME to live at a shelter! We already have two rescued retrievers that are seven years old. We love them dearly but they are a handful.
I love animals and have been known to frequently make U-turns in the middle of the road to rescue turtles trying to cross.

momof3disneyholics has updated you all as much as I can. Toby is safe for the moment thanks to a wonderful angel! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! I am going to post a new thread now that I know he is safe and we have a little bit of time to find a home.

I know they are considering getting ahold of the news and see if they can help.

I'm not sure how we would get Toby to Missouri, but I'll ask!

Getting Toby to Missouri shouldn't be as bad a the trip my sister had to take to get her yellow lab cross to me. She had an abusive marriage end and was trying to find homes for her dogs--3 old ones and the 1 1/2 yo lab cross. She drove one of the old dogs to Texas from her home in Idaho. I told her that I would consider taking the young dog (Sheena) if she didn't find a home and could get her to me in Maryland. She didn't find a home and did get her to me. She waited around a couple days to make sure Sheena wouldn't eat the cats or my kids. She's been a great dog and is really a part of our household. She's keeping our older dog young!

I posted a reply to a thread yesterday about him. Joe brought him over and we couldn't get my dogs and him to get along at all. He had to take him back with him. I don't know who he is staying with right now, but I talked to Joe last night and told him I was going to contact some lab rescue groups for him. I emailed a couple of people, but haven't heard anything yet. I wish I could have kept him, I thought they would all get along, but I have no where to keep him if I can't get all 3 dogs to get along.
I am going to call Joe if I haven't heard anything tommorrow and ask him if he wants me to put an ad in the paper for him. I feel like I'm involved now and I want to help him find Toby a home too. He is such a cute dog.

I hope and pray that Toby finds a good home soon! Thank-you for trying momof3disneyholics! Not everyone would have been as kind as you to even try. I wish I knew what we could do to save him! If my trip wasn't so far off I would talk to my DH and parents about seeing if we could get him back home to Missouri if crazyforgoofy wanted him. We are driving and it may have worked but we wouldn't be able to do this until December 4. I couldn't commit to that without talking to them first either. I am afraid that that is too late for porr little Toby! I would take him myself if I could; but unfortunately I can't. I would be willing to make a donation of food, toys, or what ever I could to save him!
