Has anyone ever used the Emeral Aisle in Orlando at National Car. I have reserved a full size car in December but hoping to get a larger car- van or SUV would be my first pick. What do you think my chances are?

To use the Emerald Aisle, you need to book intermediate.

Is intermediate above full size? when I booked I only saw compact standard full size suv van etc??

Intermediate is between compact and standard.

Intermediate is also called midsize, usually after the compact.

I think your chances are not very good to get anything above a full size. I've rented from National -- Emerald Aisle -- 4 times this year and have used the aisle and have not seen anything bigger than full size for any of my trips. I also check the aisle on my return when dropping off and still nothing bigger than full size. If you are happy with getting an intermediate car, then take your chances. If you absolutely have to have a bigger car, you'll need to book that class. I agree, you need to check out the thread listing what we've found on the Emerald Aisle this year. It's been the worse year ever to get anything above a Sedan. I rented from them this year in late January, the first 2 weeks of May, mid-July, and mid-August. I have a trip next month and have to have a minivan so I'm booked with Alamo as they had the best rate. (I'm Executive Aisle and am blessed with the perk of choosing from either the Emerald Aisle or the Executive Aisle and have gotten a Ford Taurus all 4 trips this year).

I would agree - if you need a larger vehicle, book it rather than taking a chance getting one on the EA. We've been heading down to Orlando twice a year since 2003 and may have seen an SUV or van once or twice on the EA. Over the past year or so there have only been mid-size/intermediates on the EA when we've gone to pick up our car (i.e., Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and a few G6).
