Emerald Club Frustration!!!

So, I love the idea of by passing the counter!

I registered thru mousesavers for the Emerald Club.

I then went to National's site and reserved a car thru Emerald Club...It was $9 more than the lowest rate I previously got...but what the heck, I would be by passing the counter!

When I went to print the confirmation - I noticed that "my level of service was COUNTER" - and that I would have to go to the COUNTER and present my drivers license and CC......

I callled Customer Service and they told me "No, you do not have to go to the COUNTER as long as I have a Emerald Club member number. She said she would send me a CORRECTED CONFIRMATION PAGE via email. THE EMAIL SHE SENT ME STILL SAYS MY LEVEL OF SERVICE IS COUNTER!!!!!!

Q. Has anyone else had this issue?

Q. Do you have to go to the COUNTER the very first time you become a member?

PS - Is there any difference between Emerald Club and Quick Rent?

I could have gotten a FULL SIZE - With Counter By Pass - for $9 Less than Emerald Club Intermediate with COUNTER service???????/

Don't go to the counter. Just go and pick your car and go to the check out booth. I have had this happen before and we wasted time going to the counter only to be told to go pick the car and check out at the booth. You also should try a couple different combinations of coupon and contract codes. That emerald club contract is usually the least amount of discount. Mousesavers has a whole list. Sometimes the rate code makes a difference to.

When reserving your car, did you select emerald aisle or counter? If you are renting something other than an intermediate, you literally have to make the choice between counter and reserve.
What size car are you renting? Do you have a money off coupon or and upgrade coupon? If it is an upgrade coupon, then yes, you have to go to the counter.
Yes, there is a difference between Emerald Club and quick rent.
You cannot use a coupon with Quick Rent and you cannot use the Emerald club contract code with it.

I got it taken care of!!

Here is what I did...
* Went to National and Modified the Ressie
* Changed the Contract Code from Turner Travel # to 5000304
* Made sure I selected Emerald Isle(It did already say Emerald!)
* Made sure it was an Intermediate
* Got a revised quote of $278 W/Taxes WITH EMERALD AISLE SELECTION!!
* Finalized the modification!
* Printed my modified ressie!




I AM A HAPPY CAMPER!!

You are welcome.
What does the contract code 6600330 give you? Anyone can use this code and it does drop off the concession fee. You can combine it with any coupon you have.
I would try making a new reservation with this code and then try modifying the one you have now to see which gives you the better rate.

just an additional clarification

there are "some times" that the priceless code does not "drop" the concession fee...

but in the end it is the bottomline that counts....with this code

the final price ( which can be as good as the quote with concession fee dropped )
