Sorry if this has been explained before.

We're thinking about joining EA for National. I'm just not sure of how this works. From what I read, it says to make ressies for an interm. car. We always rent an SUV.

Can I reserve an SUV, include coupons/codes or any discounts I come across and still join EA.

Its for Fll airport. Here's where I'm also clueless....After we get our luggage, do we just go straight to the parking lot, pick our SUV and then drive on our way out to the garage attendant, show paperwork, credit card and then go on our way?

Is there any type of savings by joining EA, or is it just the convenience of by passing the lines/counter service.

TIA

There is a Emerald Club discount code, 5007125. I got a good price with it on my last couples trips. The main reason for joining is to skip the counter, plus if you reserve intermediate you can pick from the Emerald Aisle row, which usually includes upgrades.

As the previous poster states the main reason I belong to Emerald club is to bypass the counter and choose my own vehicle. We have only ever rented Emerald Aisle and have all but once been fortunate enough to choose mini vans and SUV's, but you are only guaranteed a Mid-size when renting Emerald Aisle. If you are set on only reserving a SUV you will need to rent Emerald Reserve instead of Emerald Aisle. You will still need to join Emerald Club if you want the benefit of skipping the counter. And yes, you get your luggage, go out to the garage, choose your vehicle according to the level of Emerald Club you have rented, drive to the exit booth, show your reservation papers, your driver's license (your spouse may also show theirs and be listed as an addtional free driver) show any coupons you are using. You do not need to show them your credit card as they will already have it on file, because when you join Emerald Club online they will ask for your driver's license number and credit card information. Sounds confusing huh? But I LOVE renting through National's Emerald Club.

PrincessHannah;23695562]I looking for a rental that won't charge extra to put on a spouse as an additional driver.

Yes! Your spouse can be added as an additional driver for free if you belong to Emerald Club. I do believe your driver's license's have to show you live at the same address though.

I know this is a disney site, but i rented with EA las vegas for next week. Any info on what is on the lot to get an upgrade. Ive had luck in MCO before. Of any site where I can find this info.

The Emerald Club guy told me that the spouse or close family member of an Emerald Club member was not an additional driver , they were an authorized driver and said that I, as that spouse wouldn't have to show my drivers license but could still drive. Those classed as " Additional drivers" have to pay extra.
My husband just joined Emerald Club and we reserved an intermediate car and used the Emerald Aisle: there were lots of intermediates, some fullsize, a midsize SUV and quite a few Grand Caravans there at 11am on a Wed morning.
We just went straight from the baggage claim to pick out car and passed in our reservation papers. I used a different ID contract code and an ecoupon for my reservation.
