I have rented with National before but have always chosen a specific car category due to the number of people, like a minivan or a luxury car, etc

We are now looking at going to California and when looking at prices it showed that a full size car is under the executive aisle option. If I choose this option does it mean I can choose any full size car only or is there a choice of different cars?

We need a minimum full size car and why I am looking at this option. What type of cars are normally in the emerald aisle for the full size car option? It says the car could be an impala or similar but we really do not like impala's as I find them uncomfortable

Can anyone give me some guidance on this and how the EA works?

Thank you

Must be an Emerald Club or Executive Club member and logged in when making your reservation.

Emerald Aisle = you reserve at mid-size and are guaranteed a mid-size or higher. You can choose anything on the Emerald Aisle. Your reservation will say "Emerald Aisle or Aisle"

Executive Aisle (for their more frequent customers) = Reserve a full-size, pay only the mid-size price and choose anything from the executive aisle. It will be full size or higher. You have to be an executive aisle member, which comes from having a certain number of rentals in a calendar year. Your reservation will say "Executive Aisle or Executive"

If you simply reserve a full size and don't have status, you will be picking from the full size aisle.

Obviously what is available will vary based on location and time, but we recently used Emerald Aisle twice.

At MCO we picked out a Nissan Altima. There were also Chevy's and Fords available, but I didn't look at the models.

At Ft. Lauderdale, we picked out a Toyota Camry.

Most Emerald Aisle have cars, mini vans and smaller suvs in them. I've always found they had a good selection of full size cars, vans and suvs. The smallest you would end up in is a Mid Size car (ford fusion, nissan altima etc)

thank you - the midsize car won't work for us. We have two people that are over 6ft tall and then no one can sit behind them as there won't be any leg room

I did not see any minivans or small SUVs during our recent trip. I wouldn't count on them being available. I think it's a good assumption some full size would be available.
