Okay---after much reading on these boards, I decided to join the EA (since it was free as a Disney Club member).

In theory, walking right out of the airport, into the EA lane, jumping in the car of your choice and driving off sounded so....idealistic, simple, easy, time-saving.

In reality, I walked right out of the airport, into the EA lane and jumped into SEVERAL CARS OF MY CHOICE. On Aug. 18 there weren't any extra special vehicles there --no convertibles, no minivans, no PT cruisers, just normal every day intermediate cars. Hence my problem.

First decision: what color (not white since white just screams rental car).

Next decision: which model: Well here is where I felt like Goldilocks. First car--too low to the ground, next car--just didn't feel right, next car--too big, next car---just didn't feel right.

After about 15 minutes of this I decided what the heck, walked over to the intermediate aisle, got a Grand Am and left.

Total time in parking lot: Almost 30 minutes.

Line inside at the counter when I passed it: NONE.

I don't think EA works for people like me--I spent waaayyy too much obessing about my "pick" then if they had just assigned me a car and let me drive off.

:D

That's too funny! Thank you. Here's what you do, take along a 6 year old and let them pick whatever car they want. They're very decisive -- uhmmm the red one!

Actually, at MCO, even counter service still gives you this same dilemma. The only difference is that you then pick from the aisle for the size car you have reserved. In fact, there have been recent reports that those reserving compact cars (with Counter as the level of service) have been sent to the EA to pick up their choice of car. My experience in January was different. At that time we were sent to the compact aisle to pick our car (and ended up with a white Toyota Corolla). Since then I've always been reserving full size on the EA using the EC membership and DC discounts, so I cannot speak to possible changes in this regard.
