Has anyone stayed at the Embassy Suites on Mulberry Blvd. in Savannah? My husband has Hilton points that we could use to get free rooms for the night on our way. How close is it to I95? We are planning on leaving at 8pm which is the kids normal bedtime and we're thinking it would take about 13 hrs, plus stops along the way to get to the hotel. We have multiple drivers. I think we would only have about 5 hrs left the next day to get to Disney.

Haven't stayed at that hotel but we did just stop in Savannah a couple of weeks ago on our drive down to WDW. To get to Savannah, you need to get off I-95 just a bit north of the city and take 16 into the city. Its a good road, but not a highway. I'd estimate it took us about 15-20 minutes from I-95 till we crossed over the bridge into the city. Leaving, it was about the same amount of drive time to get back to I-95 south. You are correct that it will then take you about 5 hours to get to WDW from there.

If that's the one at Exit 104 in GA, it's a nice one, and just a short hop off the highway. It's not really "in" Savannah. More like "near" Savannah. ::yes::

Yes that is the one. They said sometimes it's called Pooler, GA.

Some decent restaurant selections in the area. Also a Publix market.

Where (generally) are you coming from? An 8 pm start and 13 hours means you'd arrive at the hotel at 9 am...and there's no guarantee of rooms being ready. I know it can be tough to sync bladders on the trip, but that seems like a lot of padding timewise. Unless you are looking to spend some time that day in Savannah and then stay over? If that's your strategy, I understand. I think you'd prefer staying near the highway so as to be "right on your way" after breakfast in the morning. :goodvibes

We are coming from Wilkes-Barre, PA (near Scranton). My daughter wants to leave at 8pm because of her 2 yr old. She thinks he will sleep most of the trip. My daughters girlfriend is pregnant so I'm sure will be stopping along the way for many bathroom breaks. We are in no hurry to get there. I picked that hotel because of the indoor pool for the kids. We are traveling with 4 children, the oldest being 12. We thought about looking around Savannah for the day. How far away from i95 is it? The hotel also offers free made to order breakfast and our stay would be free.

So, if you do leave at 8 pm, and stop every 2 hours for 15 minutes, you will arrive at the Embassy Suites around 9:15 a.m., assuming the posted speed limits and no slow downs to tie up traffic, according to Streets and Trips*. You definitely should have time for some sightseeing in Savannah! :yay: I would plan for a 20 min drive in and out of town.

And the other thing you will know is that if for some reason you get a later start, there's really no problem at all! Have fun!!!

*Route suggested was 81/83/695/95 etc.

We were planning on going 81/77/17/95 depending on the weather.
