Hi all, my travel agent has just been in touch to notify me that my hotel is being changed to "the embassy suites resort " in international drive due to overbooking of my origonal hotel..............has anybody got any info on this hotel..........thanx :confused3 :confused3 :wave2:

I stayed there about 5 years ago while attending a conference at the Convention Center.

It has two pools (one indoor and one outdoor - not the combined indoor/outdoor that some have).

The room has a separate bedroom. The living room/kitchenette has a sleeper sofa, dinette set, small fridge, and a microwave.

All of the rooms open to the interior (which is nicely decorated).

You have the option of valet parking (fee) or self-parking (no fee). The parking lot isn't huge, so parking is easy.

The hotel is on the I-Ride Trolley system, so you can use it to get up and down International Drive if you wish.

The free breakfast that is included is exceptional (and that's an understatement). They have both a breakfast bar (with hot foods and cold foods) plus a grill where you can have something cooked to order (omelets, etc.).

(I just checked the reviews link in the previous post. Apparently, the breakfast has gone downhill since we stayed there. There were four of us, and we all loved it. It may have made a difference that we ate early each day, say 7 or 7:30, and there wasn't a crowd at that time although there was later.)

We stayed there in Dec. 2000 and enjoyed our stay...

Just to add to "sbclifton" comments, there is also a Managers Reception in the evening that offers free Snacks & Drinks (Free Beer!)

I also stayed there for a convention. The manager's reception is good; the lobby gets noisy though. It's a nice hotel. There's also a free breakfast.

I love the Embassy Suites.
I stayed there twice with my sister, once with her son and DIL and once with my middle son.
the rooms are big, my sister and I shared the bedroom with two double beds and her son and DIl had the living room couch with a portacrib for their baby. When my son stayed he had the couch to himself and said it was quite comfortable.
The living room has a dining table and small kitchen area. Microwave and small fridge. No cooking utensils, strictly for heating snacks and popcorn. They have a couch and chair in the living room along with a large TV.
The bedroom has two double beds and a tv in the dressing cabinet. There is a sink in the bedroom, one in the kitchen area and one in the bathroom.
There are two lines for Bfst, one has pre-cooked food (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns) and the other is for omlettes and pancakes. The Omlettes were great, I had a tomato and cheese with mushrooms and it was better than what I have had in restaraunts in WDW. They also have OJ, apple juice, coffee and tea, cereals, fruits(cut up and whole), tiny muffins, and tiny croisants. I thought the breakfast was great when we stayed over 10 years ago and this past summer.
I stopped at the grocery store and picked up chips and dips, and cheese and crackers to have for the manager's reception. People were asking where I got the food and the next night there was a big crowd with their own picnics.
The drinks are great, but small. The beer comes in an 8 oz cup and the mixed drinks are served in a 4 oz cup but they give you two at a time. My nephew paid $4 for a mug at the bar and they filled that to the top. they filled it quite a few times in that 2 hour period but we won't go there. they serve all kinds of mixed drinks but no frozen drinks during happy hour.
They are expensive unless you get a deal, I found the rooms on bookit.com for $89 per night for the 4 of us. We drank more than that each night and the breakfast would have cost us at least $10 each if we had gone to I-hop.
I have a coupon from the suites for 3 nights free if I go on a time share and I am going there again between Christmas and New Year. I would gladly give them 120 minutes of my time for another stay at Embassy. Peggie

Where did you get the info about doing a timeshare presentation for Embassy Suites? I would be interested in doing this, if we got a great discount on our rooms. Thanks for any assistance.
