Embassy Suites or Staybridge Suites?

Trying to decide between these two hotels. Anyone have any experience with either? Any thoughts?

I have never stayed at the Embassy Suites, but I have stayed at the Staybridge quite a few times. I love the Staybridge Suites, they have a great breakfast (way more then continental), that the family just loves. The rooms have the full kitchen, and there are dvd players, and you can check out movies from downstairs at the check in desk. It is within a couple minute drive of Disneyland, but I would not say within walking distance.

Thanks for your quick response! I found that to be very helpful. This may sound silly, but how was the pool? I have a feeling we'll be spending a lot of time there. :)

I've only stayed at the Embassy Suites, but we've always had a great experience there as well. Free breakfast every morning with an omellette bar as well as the traditional breakfast foods. They have a fridge, microwave in the rooms. They have a pool, though it's been a while since we used it. It's nothing special if I recall correctly, but it's clean and there is a hot tub. It's too far to walk in my opinion, but the ART comes right to the hotel and goes directly to the park...runs every 20 minutes.

My kids have spent quite a bit of time in the pool at the Staybridge, and they like it (there is no slide though). They also have a tennis court (never used this though) and basketball court. They also have board games that you can check out at the front desk also.

We use to do the Embassy Suites exclusively. We had tried others but felt that the large, clean rooms with fridges, microwave and sink were the best bet. The rooms are very large, seperate living room from bedroom with a door which we loved and nice bathroom. You get a full, very large selection of breakfast foods with the egg station (they will do fried in addition to the omlettes) cereal, fruit (lots), bacon, sausage, french toast, pastries, oatmeal, yogurt and juice or milk. The food is average, it is buffet, but it is a good start to the morning and a huge savings for a family of 4 (20-30 dollar savings atleast). If my husband brings breakfast back to the room he always grabs an extra piece of fruit and a yogurt to store in the fridge for the baby later in the evening. They also offer drinks (basic well) and shirleys for the kids in the evening with popcorn or some other lite snack and sometimes offer pizza by the slice for a 1.00 (this runs from 5:30 to 7:30 I believe). We usually aren't back from the park to get to take advantage of this but it is nice when we do. The pool is basic but the kids don't mind it is still a pool but it is outdoors. We only like the Embassy south on harbour not the North Embassy (we stayed there last time because it was December and they had an indoor pool but we were not happy at all). Good luck choosing

I've never stayed at either but my sister, PinkBudgie, stayed at the Embassy Suites last month for her anniversary and she seemed to really like it. She posted a thread about it with pictures. I haven't seen her around the boards the last couple of days so she might not see this thread to post it herself. Here's the link:

I am thinking of staying here for a night in oct...but looking at hotels.com it seems as if only certain rooms get the full breakfast? Is this true and if so...do all rooms booked on the embassy suites site include breakfast or no? Thanks!

Again, I have no personal experience so I don't know for sure but I got the impression from my sister that everyone gets free breakfast.

The breakfast comes with all the rooms.

I've never stayed at Staybridge, but I have stayed at Embassy Suites South on Harbor Ave. We absolutely love it! We like the large suite, nicely decorated clean rooms, dining table for 4, the refrigerator and microwave in each room.

This hotel has one of the best made to order breakfasts from the different Embassy's we have visited. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, from the buffet, and made to order omelets ( spinach, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, etc.) They have very good seasoned potatoes at this Embassy! They have fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, donuts, toast, bagels, yogurt, OJ, Cranberry juice, milk, coffee, tea.

In the evening- manager's reception bar with unlimited free alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, free slushes, popcorn from 5-7PM.

We now stay at the Grand Californian Hotel for convenience and because we are DVC members! But if we did not stay at the Grand, this would be the hotel we would stay in! We love it!

Lawerence is a manager there and he is top notch! If you see him, tell him the SnapHappy people said "hello!"

Good information! We like the buffet at this Embassy and the Embassy in La Jolla ( San Diego), because each day we can have something different.

My vote is for Embassy South not North!

Thanks guys! That is what I thought but when selecting certain rooms on hotels.com it says full breakfast for the more spendy ones. I am excited to stay there :)

Thanks to my sister for posting the link. :thumbsup2 I've been rather busy the past few days. If you look at my thread about it, you can see lots of pics and directions to the park. The north one was too far away. One day we walked to DLR from this one. But it was a long walk. We only did that on our day off from the parks when we went to visit DTD. Otherwise, we drove. The hotel had plenty of parking.

The breakfast was one of the reasons we chose it. I wanted some eggs to start the day and since it is included with the room, you can be as quick or as long as you want. You don't have to wait for your order. You can also take your coffee to go. DH did this because he liked to have it while waiting in line to get in. We were very happy with Embassy Suites South.
