Spent 7 nights at this property and while overall I think it is OK, there is one big caveat. We had a 5th floor room above the poolside bar, which stays open even after the pool closes and definitely had noise issues several nights from that. Not great for a family in that sense.
Check in was OK. I had added a paid night prior to my award stay, with a note on that reservation that this was the case. The desk person said to me, "and you're staying for one night..." Uhhh no and she then read the comment. I had also booked that night as a Winter Suite Retreat to get these silly Nickelodeon pillows for my kids, which I had to remind.
Next morning, there was a folio under the door, so I took another trip down to the desk to make sure they knew I wasn't checking out and wanted to stay put. Two more people later, that was settled.
The room itself was fine, beds comfortable, usual ES furnishings. Housekeeping was very good. Excellent bath towels in particular. Neutrogenia products in the bathroom. What was strange was the crappy towels they gave you for the pool, my 8 yr old complained they were too small.
Plenty of seating at the pool, kids liked the pool very much. Most of it is outdoors, about a quarter or so heads back into an indoor area. At the poolside bar, you can also order of the restaurant menu.
Breakfast cooked was fine, fun chef. Fruit was fine, good selection of cereals, bagels, some mini muffins and mini donuts. All drinks from dispensers, including juice. Horrible coffee. The express breakfast items left something to be desired- tasteless scrambled eggs and potatoes, usually overcooked bacon. As long as you know what to go with, you'll be fine. The same area is used for the hotel restaurant, we had sandwiches there the first night- nothing special, no desire to check back.
Didn't see any signs of a kids' activity club I read about.
Shuttles were pretty good, most frequent to the TTC. Typical morning would be an 8am to TTC and Animal Kingdom 9am to Epcot and MGM, 10 am TTC/AK again. A few shuttles went over to Downtown Disney. We would take a shuttle over and short cab back (2.5 miles). Not really in walking distance if it's too hot to get some food. A few restaurants on Palm Parkway, but you really have to get all the way to the end of Palm Parkway (about a mile) before you hit more choices and on a bit further to Crossroads Shopping Center. There are a couple places that deliver- Papa John's, Giordano's.
Staff was accommodating and friendly.
