Has anyone stayed here and what did you think?

How close of a drive is it to disnleyland?

Stayed there for an anniversary years ago. It's a decent place which is in the "entertainment corridor" area of BP, just north of Knott's Berry Farm. I'd recommend checking out the KBF Chicken Dinner Restaurant since you're so close. It's great for breakfast too, although I'm sure you'll go with the Embassy Suites breakfast. You'll be close to the Movieland Wax Museum, Medieval Times, Claim Jumper and Po' Folks restaurants, a McDonald's themed with LGB scale trains, a Ripley's Believe It or Not, and a slew of other points of potential interest.

As for getting to DL, take Beach Blvd north a couple of blocks north to the 91 freeway east, stay in the right lane to transition to the I-5, and use Disneyland Drive exit to get to the DL parking structure. It's about a 10-12 minute drive.

We have stayed there as well - it has been several years ago though.
Be aware that it is an older property. The rooms surround an outdoor garden area, unlike most embassy suites which are enclosed. They have the cooked to order ES breakfast.
Don't know if it's still the case - but when we were there they did have a complimentary shuttle to DL.

Oh boy - I debated posted this since I don't want to worry you close to your vacation but someone on another board asked the same question (here is link: http://laughingplace.com/default.asp?WCI=MsgBoard&WCE=T-44915-P-1&Refresh=0603150759) and this was my reply:

I am usually a fan of Embassy Suites, but not this one. I stayed there once and it almost ruined my trip to Disneyland! Now, to be fair, it was 5 years ago so things may have changed alot. It was the most run down ES I have every stayed in. Lamp was broken, furniture had rips. But the killer for me was the heating/cooling system. We were there in May, which is quite nice weather in southern California. Our room was stifling hot so I called the front desk and asked how to turn the heat down. Guess what, I was told I could not!!! They said that it was one central system for all the rooms and since a guest had complained that they were cold, they turned up the heat!!! So we got to bake!! I have never heard of a hotel with this problem! Perhaps, it has been fixed but I would certainly make sure before you go.

That said, the lobby was very nice - great indoor pool. As always, the breakfast and happy hour is plently of food and filling!

I guess my biggest piece of advice is to ask if the hotel has been renovated in the last several years and if they have individual temperature controls in the rooms now. It is about a 10 - 15 minute drive to Disneyland - they did have shuttles when we stayed there.

I really want to stress that this was 5 years ago - it is highly likely that Embassy Suites has renovated this property and/or done some maintaince that had been deferred. Give the hotel and call and ask them some questions.

So sorry to have to post a less than great opinion.

I would rather get pros and cons we have already changed hotels once due to bad reviews and I wont hesitate to do it again.

I have stayed in bad hotels places befor and have gotten stuck because they won't refund money or cancel your reservation so you can find some place else and it has really put a damper on vacations so I am a little cautious.

Our original hotel was going to be the Anaheim Hilton convention center.

Thanks any and all advice is helpful we've never been to california so we want to see and do as much as possible.
