Embarkation Photos are Ugly

I don't really like the backdrop much either. This was our first cruise so I don't have much to compare too. I still would have probably bought the picture though if it had turned out decent. It was really good of DH and I, but the kids were just terrible looking in the picture. Oh well.... maybe our next embarkation will be better.

Mine are ugly too, but it isn't the backdrop.

I didn't realize they'd take embarkation photos - or I would have straightened my hair a little and gotten my shirt tucked in before getting in line to board. Maybe even chosen a better outfit. And my kids both look like "we want to get on the ship! Why are we stopped." Only my husband looks good - vaguely bemused.

We own it, because we bought a photo package and over a four night cruise we only had a few good photos.

It made me a bit sad!! We have always purchased our embarkation photos because we loved the rich woods and colors of the ship around us and the placard was always fun. Plus, having been forewarned by other DIS'ers before our first cruise..................our family has always been ready for the picture. Gotta luv what you learn on the DIS!! LOL

But, when we embarked at Christmas............we were all so disappointed in the backdrop. I really loved the essence of the ship in the picture vice (IMHO) the anemic looking art deco backdrop taken in the terminal. So, we just skipped the embarkation photo and boarded the ship.

Disney does such a wonderful job and certainly cannot please everyone. I understand that they probably opted to refine the process to speed up boarding but I wish they would set up 4 embarkation photo stops in the atrium instead of hawking the wine package. Or at least offer passengers a choice between the backdrop or the atrium. Again, just my thoughts!

We skipped the embarkation picture taking since we didn't think the background looked good. Also, we wanted to get onboard ASAP. Hehe....:teeth: We couldn't wait...

I have always thought they should take the embarkation photos at the ears in the terminal. Did they ever? Seems like its a natural.

Your family looks great but I think the backdrop is too busy. I love your t-shirts. Can I ask - where did you get them? We are getting ready for our first Disney Cruise in 3 weeks and I think the matching t-shirts are a fun idea (just need to talk dh into it, LOL).

Thanks!

Jeanne

kellib36, I like the embarkation photo taking at the ears! :)
In fact, I took my own embarkation photo there. Hehe... ;)

Thanks. My wife picked up the matching T-shirts at the Disney Store after Memorial Day. She found them on clearance (ever the consumer shopper and don't think I don't appreciate it). ;)

We always try to find matching shirts, we enjoy dressing the same.

I want to put my vote in for the backdrop. We had the "old" way too but like this one much better.

Buddy Bear: Great job. Now I have to work on mine.

It is wonderful the really cool ideas we learn from each other on this board
