Hey guys~

We are scheduled for Oct 9-17 at the Atrium Club. VERY excited!

My only issue is with the concierge email contact. At 180 days out, I made most of my ADRs, but I'm trying to arrange a few little room surprises for my kids. I also want to know if and where I can expect to go pin shopping during the construction.

I have sent two emails, a week apart, and have not heard back. It's been over a week since my last email. I know I have the correct address as I "replied" to an earlier (mid-summer) email from Becky.

I don't want to be a pest but what gives? Is the email down for construction?

:confused3

Don't be so sure you have the correct e mail, in mine they actually wrote the e mail address incorrectly, and it showed as a link. I have sent 3 emails over the last 2 1/2 months, with no response, and still ended up making my own ADR changes. Some concierge service, huh? I'm still convinced the extra money is just for the snacks at this point.Anyway, try this e mail :

wdw.contemporary.concierge@disney.com

Good Luck ;) post and let us know how you make out.

It should also be sayed that the Contemporary IPO Cast Members are the same ones for the Grand Floridian IPO, so maybe they are busy with guests from there as well. I am not trying to make excuses from them, I am just trying to think of reasons why you have not heard of them.

As for the other things you need to know, the pin station at the Contemporary has been moved towards the side entrance of the B.V.G. store, however I can't help you with the room surprises.

I am surprised you have not heard anything! I had great luck with the YC IPO...I would try giving a call....you don't have much time left. They can purchase gifts for you still.

You are not being a pest...this is a service that comes along with being a guest on this level:) Good Luck!

They are very slow at getting back, many have reported it. I would e-mail them back and say at the top 3rd request. Be polite, but persistent. Alot of the IPO offices deal with more than one resort. They are the only ones I have had trouble with. Just keep in mind that the IPO CM's and the actual CM's on the Atrium Club level floor are not one in the same. You will find you will get great treatment on the floor. They probably are understaffed, but... I usually write to answer me back ASAP. I would only wait about 3 days for your next e-mail. You will hear from them eventually, it just takes a lot of patience. There is a time or two when I do hear from them right away, but those times are few and far between. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies.

That is the email addy I do have. I think they must be incredibly busy.

We have always gone to WDW in January/February so I believe the crowd levels are going to be quite a shock! Seems like everyone is posting about booked resorts for October. We wanted to try the MNSSHP.

I was unaware of a rule for posting CM names. Sorry. :guilty:

CR Fan 4 Life: thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll find the pin stand.

I had really bad luck with the PPO for the Poly on our last trip (they actually admitted forgetting to book CRT (!!!) which is why I did it myself this time). I am hoping for a better result this time. We always had good luck with the PPO at the WL.

I guess I'll try again in a couple days. Only 9 days till we arrive! :cloud9:

Because what a CM tells one person is not what may happen for the next person. It is the resorts board policy not to post CM's names.

I think it's good you mentioned that. My feeling is some people might think the IPO Cast Members are the ones who work on the Club Level floors, when that is 100% false.

You're welcome and I guarantee you will be able to find it.

That's not 100% false, some resorts do have staff that rotate.

To the OP, good luck with getting everything you need done. Unfortunately, this has been a trend with many of the pre-planning departments. It's too bad, because that's what you're basically paying more for, better service. It doesn't appear as though the lack of service is hurting reservations on the club level. I do agree with Disneybride though, the best service I've ever received came from the IPO staff that takes care of all 3 of the Epcot resorts.

I agree, be persistant, this is my plan going forward... My big problem with the e mail response delays is that you're never sure what is booked for you and what is not. Also, that means with the delay, other Disney guests could be eating up the prized ADR's that you've entrusted ( paid) someone else to get for you! I hope there is indeed some secret way the concierge folks "squeeze in" club level guests, because I'd hate to think I wasn't going to get what I had requested, 2 months ago!

UPDATE: I decided to send the 2nd email again (and I put "2nd attempt") in the subject line.

I received a reply within the hour. Could that be the trick or was I just lucky? :thumbsup2

I received answers to my questions, an apology for the delay, and a helpful offer to assist with the room surprises. Yay! Thanks for the advice, everyone!

TammiMcMan: Nice to "see" you again. It's been a while!

CR Fan 4 Life: Poly during Christmas? King K. suite? WOW! How awesome! We stayed in the Hawaii LH on our last trip. While the WL is still my favorite (so far, anyway), I thought the Poly was really lovely. We cannot wait to see what the CR is like! (I stayed there in 1971 and have memories of the monorail through the lobby-- cool). What made you leave the CR this time?

8.5 days and counting...

I wish it was the King Kamehameha Suite. Actually the lounge in the Hawaii Longhouse is called the King Kamehameha Club, the way the Contemporary calls the 12th floor the Atrium Club and the main building at the Grand Floridian is called Royal Palm.

The reason we are not staying at the Contemporary is because when my Dad called for reservations back in February, the Atrium Club was sold out for our dates. At 1st we were booked into a Tower Bay Lake View, however since we wanted Club Level service we thought it would be the best time to try the Polynesian since we have never stayed there. So later that day he called and switched our reservations.
