Emailing or calling guest services is pointless

I've always said that if somebody has a problem or concern they should call guest services to discuss it or to let the company know about their dissatisfaction. And now I'm saying don't bother. There's no point. The cast members are woefully uninformed about every conceivable facet of the company, and the company is woefully uninformed about what makes good customer service.

Last week I sent an email to Guest Services letting them know that I was disappointed that the dates for the Halloween party has not been released yet. I was happy to get a rather prompt phone call back within a few days, in the form of a message on my answering machine. Unfortunately the response was that the party dates would not be released until the end of April. Fine. at least it's an answer right? Well they called again today, i guess to make sure that I got the answer in person. It was the same girl on the phone with the same lackluster unenthusiastic voice. She gave me the same exact song and dance that she had left on the answering machine. Party dates will not be released until the end of April.

Imagine my surprise when I get home from work 4 hours later and there's a post on the Disney parks blog announcing "here are all the dates for the Halloween party!" Well I'm thrilled they finally released the dates, but it made me realize that their customer service is a joke. The CMs don't actually know anything. Their only job is to make you feel like somebody heard your complaint.

Sheesh.

The dates are still not shown on the Disneyworld site. So it sounds as if they haven't released the dates to all of their sites or CMs yet. Probably more of a case of they are too big for their own good. I would still e-mail guest services if I had a serious problem during a trip.

I agree - it's like NOBODY within the company communicates within departments. It's all over frustrating and ridiculous..

It is highly possible that it was suppose to be end of April but then a ton of complaints came in about lack of information so the PR department decided to announce the dates now. The parks blog still says stay tuned for pricing and the ability to purchase so I wonder if that won't come until late April.

They usually announce them in late March if I'm not mistaken.

Probably. If a Customer Service Agent can't type the word "Halloween" into a search bar while talking into their headset and get an almost immediate search result that shows the dates as published in the Disney Blog page, then there is a problem. And instead of spending $2 billion to give us plastic wrist bands, they should spend $200,000 to fix their IT issues.

I think most of us know that when you call them looking for info at best it is a crap-shoot. It is shameful, no question.

IDK- Disney doesn't like to let information slip until it's finalized b/c they don't want to give false information. Maybe they told their CM's end of April so people would be happy when they get the info. early...

Mark My words - they will wait to see how the After Hours Events sell before setting the price for the parties. I foresee minimum 50% increase in ticket party prices if those after hours events sell.

If that happens we will be skipping the party, and having dinner at The California Grill instead.

Welp, the prices aren't posted, but we finally have the dates and the official costume policy available on the Disney website!!

I'll second that! But if they were going to do that, they've had a LONG time - well before the wristbands came on the scene...their IT has sucked forever, lol

Yes, agree. This is why I never voice a concern unless it is something I need fixed immediately. It's pointless.

I have definitely found better information to answer my questions right here on this forum. People here have been spot on with their info
