Emailed gift card from Disney

Has anyone gotten an email like this after a resort stay? It was from Guest Services Billing Department.

Due to an owed balance on your recent reservation at Disney's Resort, my partners will be sending you an electronic Disney Gift Card....

Interesting. Did you pay for any portion of your stay using a Disney gift card?

I had received a Disney gift card because I declined housekeeping services. Near the end of my stay, I applied it toward my room for incidentals, but I didn’t end up spending all of it, so they returned the balance to me. The front desk told me I could stop by and they’d use it to reduce the amount that they charged to my credit card, but it was only $10 so I decided not to bother with it.

Check the email address to make sure it is legitimate.

If it asks you to click on anything, don't.

I think the OP hit the wrong key in the "Title". Replace the "F" with a "D" and it would be Disney...

Yes, I gathered that. But does it still seem phishy, unless the entire balance was paid with gift cards, would expect the refund to go to the method used to pay the balance (credit card). Just seems weird.

It was a DVC stay. There was no link to click and a gift card was emailed separately today. It seems odd to me too, though. The only thing that was pre paid with the room was the dining plan. When it was cancelled, I did have $$ returned to a few gift cards. Maybe I didn’t get a full refund earlier because the gift cards still had $$ on them. It was a crazy time with a desert party refund, an after hours refund and a tour refund. There were 11 of us so it was hard to keep up with it all.
