I got the same extact e-mail only for moderate at 50.00 off a night with rates as low as 79.00. I have never seen moderates this low. We are going in about 2 weeks at the BWI. Oh well.

I would rather have gotten the moderate since thats where we are staying the majority of the trip. I could use another $10.00 off.

Anyone want to trade pin codes for my deluxe for a moderate?

Lisa

I may be asking a really stupid question. How do you get on the e-mail list? And do the codes require a special pin number in order to get the special price. Do you have to purchase the theme park tickets?

I've seen some of the other codes that are available that don't require the theme park tickets, and with the various discounts on those, you're probably better off booking the room separately on one of those codes and buying tickets from someone like "ticketmania".

Ok. I got the AKL one, too.

I am a Disney Club member, but I am not sure if that generated the email. I am also registered online with the Disney site in general. It asks if you want to receive special offers from WDW, Disneyland, the cruises, etc. Just click yes on which ever you want special offers from.

To anybody else who has gotten the AKL offer, have you tried calling Disney to see if you can use the code for another resort (i.e. a moderate)?

I can't use mine unfortunately (non-transferable alas or I would give away). Not totally bad news. We need to go to California in August and will be doing Disneyland as part of the trip.

ok, I called with the code from the AK email to try and use a moderate and she did say it was only valid at AK. It does not say anything about being non transferable so if anyone have a moderate code that you are not using please email me at lisa@gti.net

I will be happy to exchange it for the deluxe for AK $119 a night. Or if you cant use it I can pass the deluxe on to someone who can.

Thank You,

Lisa

we got one too. We have AP. The code is the same code as the AP/Mickey monitor rate. Maybe the pin, doesn't require you to have an AP.

You received this message because you provided your e-mail address and wanted to receive planning tips & reminders as well as future Disney offers via e-mail.

This was at the bottom of the email so it may be because we signed up as well.

I got the e-mail with AKL for $119 too. I called yesterday and they would have let me use it for Poly ($193 per night garden view incl. tax) or WL - my favorite. I booked WL at $119 (+ tax = $132) per night for standard (even though we were just there and I have no money to spend on airline tickets - maybe I can find a way before September!!!). Maybe it depends on who you get on the phone. The guy I talked to was great.

What is this mickey monitor I keep hearing about? I too am going to AKL in May 2003 and need 2 rooms. A good rate would definitely come in handy.

the mickey monitor is the qrtly newsletter for annual pass holders. it usually has the discount codes for the next couple of the months.

I didn't get an email, but I got a postcard today for the moderates.. $79 a night. LOL, I don't have a clue when we are going back, and those postcards just depress me:earsgirl:

You've probably been emailed by someone already about this, but in case you haven't---you can't trade pin numbers. You have to have the cards that were mailed to you and it has to match that this pin number was sent to your name. Sorry!

Hi everyone, I just called CRO and booked a room at AKL with the code CQJ. It was 119.00 plus tax which came to 132.00. She did not ask for a pin number, however I did tell her I was an AP holder. I just got my AP in May and didn't get a Mickey monitor yet so I took a chance from what another poster said and it worked!!!! Good luck all.

If these are emailed and not postcards, how would they know your actually name? It didn't come to us with our name on it, just one of our generic yahoo email addresses. And unlike the postcards, they didn't put non-transferable on the email which I think are on the postcards - Can anyone confirm this?

I'm just a little curious how Disney works all this. I'm pretty sure that we'll be using our code (unless we get the a better deal with the AP rate) or else I'd love someone to give it a try. I'll post here if we don't end up using it. We're booking our room today.

I called CRO to make my reservations for AKL for 5/2003. I will probably buy an AP as I'm going for 10 days, in order to get a discount (Hopefully).

The CM told me I was not listed to receive any e-mails from them so I promptly told her my e-mail address. Hopefully, I'll get an e-mail as well.

I booked two rooms and desperately need some sort of discount.

TheLorax2000 ,

They can tell your name by your pin number.

I can understand that the pin number should be a one time use but if you cant use it and want to share it, they are still filling a room for that night.

If you want to start having emails sent to you, you have to call 407-W-Disney and ask them to add your email information - especially if you have recently booked a room or are interested in checking prices it is a very easy process. That is where those offers generate from.

As for the pin numbers, Disney does compare the pin number to the person who received it and only that person is able to book the package so my recommendation is to get your email in their system and get ready for your own offer!!!
:p
