This is such a good rate but when I called to book she informed me that there is a resort fee plus a parking fee on top of that. It was 22$ more a night with those added on to the room and tax.
So she gave me a total of 152$w/parking and 142 w/out.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Oh yes, I forgot about those. The resort fee gives you access to their gym, two bottles of water per day, and a certain amount of "free" long distance and "free" local calls per day (I forget the amount). The parking fee is regardless if you park the car yourself or use their valet service, but I think the price is less if you park it yourself (but don't quote me on that).

Thanks for pointing that out M2DD. Our dates aren't covered under this promotion, but I had looked into them before trying to get a nurse or government rate.

The resort fee includes internet access, two bottles of water per day as well as gym access. $152 is still a lot less then the YC/BC and BWI.

I have been trying to convince DH that we should try to take the kids to WDW this summer, and since he loves the Swan, with this rate I may be able to convince him!!!!

tax is 12,5% and the resort fee and parking are also taxed, but at 6.5% I believe ( or about $.80 a day for each)
$119 for the Swan is awesome, it usually runs $10 more per night than the Dolphin, but has true Queen beds, wher as the Dolphin is Deluxe Doubles ( just a smidge smaller)
Thanks for the post OP!

Just booked. It is $119 a night plus tax at 12.5% = $133.88 a night plus the $10 resort fee, which for us is a bargin as it includes internet access, two bottles of water and access to the gym. So it is $1,701.04 for the eight nights plus another $80 total for the resort fee for a total of $1,151.04 for the eight nights = $143.88 a night.

If you are going to have a car with you then you would pay an additional $10 a night for self parking. So all in $153.88 still a bargin compared to what you would pay for the YC/BC or BWI.

I'm glad you got a great rate for this hotel:goodvibes

The only reason why I posted about the resort fee and parking fee is because I was unaware that they charged for this so I just wanted other disers who also didn't know to be aware of this before booking.

Have a great trip:thumbsup2

I got this email as well. I really dont like the resort fee.

If you are are not going to make use of the internet or the gym I could see how you might find the resort fee to be a waste. You also get two bottles of water per day. It really comes down to what you use. If you are going to pay for internet access anyway then the resort fee becomes a wash.

No worries. I travel so much for business now a days and resort fees are pretty much standard so they do not phase me. I am surprised that Disney has not gone down that road yet.

I guess for folks that do not travel they might be taken by surpise by a resort fee.

Anyway still a great rate for a great resort that has a great location.

"Resort" fees are standard only with some locations and some chains. We are pretty set against them, so we prefer not to book anyplace that nickels and dimes us just for fun.
We easily travel 1-2 times per month. We can't always avoid them, but there are plenty of lovely hotels that don't do this. (We generally stay at Hilton family properties.) :goodvibes

we got it too but just missed our dates...too bad...that was a good deal for the boardwalk area. :goodvibes

That is so true, nothing but nickle and diming people. Whats next, a bathing fee, a breathing fee! Absurd!

I got this E-mail too, and I'm bummed because my Disney 4/3 package is almost fully paid off. If I didn't have non-family members coming with me I would cancel and stay at the Swan. I love the location. Oh well- I don't want to make things complicated and I do want the DDP and Magical Express, so it's a good trade off. I'm happy staying at Disney's mod resorts, but the Swan location is sooo tempting, plus they have those comfy beds!

I had looked at the Swan and Dolphin resorts and think they look gorgeous. I would be able to stay there with a teachers and staff discount but I didn't like the added resort fee and especially the parking fee. We drive so I can bring as many bottles of water with me that I want to and I don't want to feel punished because we don't want to fly and chose to drive the 17 hours when we go there. I don't know if I could stay there even if it is cheaper than other deluxes just because of them putting in charges that other resorts don't do for staying there.
