Email confirmations instead of snail mail?

Did they ever do this - email confirmations instead of sending thru snail mail? Seems it woudl save soem money, plus you woudl get your confirmation fairly quickly. Course it is exciting to get that confirmation in the mailbox!

When we booked our ressie via the member web site, we received an e-mail confirmation then a mailed one as well.
