Hi - just back from Disney, and had a wonderful dinner at Jiko while there - however, on the way back to the room, started with an oral allergy attack like I've never had before, and I am not sure what ingredient might have caused this. I want to email the kitchen at Jiko and see if I can get a list of the ingredients in the dishes I tried, but I can't seem to find an address, and wondered if anyone here might know?
I have Oral Allergy Syndrome, so this did not take me completely by surprise - I cannot eat certain fruits because it causes my lips and tongue to go numb, my throat to close up - I do carry an EpiPen now for this very reason, because my first experience landed me in the Emergency Room. However, I know I did NOT eat any of the fruits that cause problems (birch family - apples, nectarines, cherries, kiwi, etc - only the raw fruit, cooked is ok because the pollen within the fruit is gone) so now I need to try to narrow down what MIGHT have set me off, because this was a different, more intense reaction that included hives and set off my asthma. I'm guessing it was pomegranate from the Lemon Curd dessert
but I want to be sure, because that should have been cooked being in a compote, and therefore this doesn't make sense.
Any contact info greatly appreciated, I'll try to call next week if I can't find the email.
