I thought you could use a smile about now..... :p

Well, if it hadn't been for the Zurg's I never could have spelled that.

They helped me with some special spelling helping software.

That did make me laugh.

More prayers and pixie dust for Em, and for all of delswife's family. Hope little Em is feeling lots better soon, and that your family has a wonderful "I love you day" all together!

Wishing good thoughts for Em, you and your family! And my prayers for a quick recovery. Disney magic and pixe dust is on its way and your family will be together soon.

& Prayers for Em, Saturday will be here soon just hang in there.

I'm so glad to hear that the drugs are helping her! That poor kid!

It's always so tough when a step-child's parent disagrees with what you and your spouse think (KNOW) is best. We've been trying to get my step-son's mom to take him in for help on his allergies, but she doesn't want him taking anything or getting shots. The poor kid clears his throat all spring and summer long. All you can do is hope that they come to their senses.

I'll definitely say some prayers for Em's health and her mother's senses. :)

IF her mom sends her to school in the morning Del is going to call the school nurse and have her take Em's temp and let her know that Em is sick.

A few more days, soon, soon.

I feel like we are counting down a Disney trip.

Thank you again everyone. You don't know how much your helping us.

Robin. My prayers are with Em too. I sure hope she gets better. Hopefully you'll be going over to pick her up from school today!

DS has the same thing. He's had a bad cough since Saturday with a low grade fever (he never gets a high fever). Yesterday his dr. couldn't see him until today. When he started crying every time he coughed (he's 10, and never cries!) I took him to the prompt care. Those chest x-rays were scary! The whole bottom part of his lung is full. He got the xithromax too, which I agree is good stuff.

The main thing I wanted to post is that the prompt care dr said NO SCHOOL this week (as if I would have sent him anyway!) and to follow up within a week with the regular doctor. He really stressed the follow up. We're leaving Sunday for IN, and the dr. said to have him checked before we leave.

So a professional says that this is at least a week long type recovery, and to be sure to check it again to be sure the pneumonia is gone.

Good luck!

Going to school??????? That makes no sense at all. You are right to be taking her to your doctor for a second opinion. Is your dr. a pediatrician? She is young enough to still be going to one. Sometimes family practice doctors are not aggressive enough with the young ones. I also often question an ER doctor's opinion as I have had VERY bad luck at our local hospital. They sent my asthmatic child home who was extremely ill with double pneumonia (ended up it was RSV and we didn't know it) because he had a good O2 saturation level. He blew on his flowmeter 175 points lower than usual. The ER Dr. was very unconcerned about any of that and only focused on his O2 sat level. Not that he couldn't speak because he was so short of breath, etc. As any health care worker would know a good O2 sat level does not carry alot of weight in a child who is having difficulty breathing. You could have a good O2 sat level and then code. There is more to my story that I will not share but the moral of the story is to go with someone that you trust and who knows your child's history.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Robin, I hope Em is feeling better today. I've been thinking about her all day. If you get a chance drop us an update.

Zurg, that is so cute!

:grouphug: Hugs to Em.
