Elvis Mini-series

[Lisa loves Pooh]

I recorded it on Sunday--but ended up only watching the second half on Wednesday.

I am by no means an Elvis Expert--but I like the Elvis and Me miniseries much more than this one. I thought the casting in Elvis & Me was much better....and in this Elvis mini--it struck me as an impersonator--rather than someone becoming the character.

I watched it Sunday, but missed it Wednesday because my cousin called me up here to the lake and had me on the telephone for THREE HOURS - grrrr..

However, of what I did see, I found nothing realistic about it at all and had a very hard time trying to convince myself that the characters were anything like who they should be..

Are you going to watch the special tonight? The actual home videos and such, released by Lisa Marie and Priscilla? I'm going to try, but my DD, her husband and my granddaughter are coming in awhile so I may have to tape it instead..

I am looking forward to tonight. I really didn't care for the mini series. The actor playing Elvis just wasn't doing it for me. I didn't watch it all.

I wish I could--but I'll be looking for myself on America's funniest video and taping it .

What's sad about the "unrealistic" movie--they had carte blanche and blessing of the Presley estate and graceland for the movie.

Elvis and Me was based on the book by Priscilla presley--but it mostly picked up with when Elvis met her.

Priscilla looked NOTHING like priscilla--and I just didn't buy the relationship. I kept having flashbacks to lines from the "original".

I didnt get a chance to see the second half but the one on Sunday had so many commercials. It seemed like 5 minutes of movie and 10 minutes of commercial. THey could have had the whole thing on one night instead.

The lip synching was terrible IMO. Elvis impersonators do better. Of all, I thought Camryn Mannheim did best.
