Two friends are at MK today and have been told that Elsa is running Arrendale today and won't be meeting for the day. Anna is meeting and will have a visiting Princess.

I'm not sure if she will appear in the parade or not. :confused3 Just wanted to pass this on.

It is so sad when one of them are not there as expected. It happened to us with Snow White on one trip, at Epcot. They had signs that she was out helping the Dwarfs. The character handler that was in the area to explain to guests whispered to me that she was sick and they can't often get replacements last minute

There will be a lot of us poet little girls today. They are so new they should make sure they are there.

Sometimes they can't find a replacement. A few years ago, Cinderella wasn't at Cinderellas Royal Table. She had to send the Fairy Godmother in her place to greet her guests.

It will be interesting to see what wait times look like for Anna only.

I saw this on another forum, but I don't think I have ever seen a girl look so much like a Disney princess in my life. Maybe she doesn't have anything to do today and can fill in?? :confused3

I'm a little surprised they don't have 3 or 4 understudies for the flavor of the month/year characters. Poor girl. I hope she's alright.

Sometimes understudies have other characters they are friends with and this might have been a last minute situation. :)

Ah, so that is why they split them up, in case such a situation would apply.

I can see a m&g b/c they are free, but a meal people pay a lot of money for...I'd be furious on that. Cinderella is the reason people are going. That is like buying tickets for Wicked and because the star is sick you see Cats instead. They should have a couple of girls on hand who could quickly fill in when you are paying that price.

Sometimes (and it's very rare) it DOES turn out that there is nobody who can substitute.

No characters are guaranteed at any meal, especially FC's. I'm sure it can be frustrating but Disney don't like to make promises they may not necessarily be able to keep.

i have to say, as hard as the fast passes for A&E are to come by, if I only saw one of them I would expect CM to provide another fast pass on a different day so I could return to see them together or at least see the one we missed.

I don't really think that is stated clearly on the website.

Cinderella makes your acquaintance in the majestic Grand Hall, before you ascend a spiral staircase to the banquet hall above. (A gilded elevator is also available to transport you to the festivities.)

Then, dine in a storybook setting surrounded by soaring stone archways, majestic medieval flags and spectacular stained-glass windows overlooking Fantasyland. During your time inside the castle, visit with classic Disney Princesses.

Tiaras and glittering gowns are optional, although young Guests are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.

Character appearances are subject to change.

I would think they appearances subject to change would be the other princesses not the big one who is greeting you and you get your picture with included with cost:

As you enter Cinderella Castle, pose for a complimentary portrait with Cinderella herself. Your portrait will be delivered right to your table.

I am glad in my case it is a moot point b/c I've never had that experience, but I pay for CRT for Cinderella. I would be asking for a refund and not staying if Cinderella was not there.

Nowhere does it say in the event that Cinderella cannot appear she will be replaced with the Fairy Godmother or another friend. I think CRT is an exception where she should be there or people should be compensated in some way(allowed to cancel, discounted price). Again, you are paying and you are promised a photo with Cinderella...not Cinderella or one of her friends. I find it hard to believe with all the places Cinderella makes appearances in the MK they wouldn't be able to get a fill in(parade, FTH) I think Disney is in the wrong big time if they expect people to be satisfied with FG/friend when you are paying that kind of money. Another example where WDW is dropping the ball with CS.

Elsa is probably locked in her room again. And, she probably won't tell anyone what is bothering her.

So the worst job at WDW today is the visiting princess substituting for Elsa. :scared:

I'm glad I'm not there today with my daughter all hyped up to meet her.

I know you usually understudy for more than one character. I'm just surprised that, given all the insanity and people practically killing each other to meet what are basically disney hired cosplayers, with this pair, that they'd not find a way to do it. I feel sorry for customer service cast members because people are going to act like lunatics to them for 1 character not in the park.
People who act like lunatics over this....aren't really acting. ;)

I think the new FP+ situation makes things worse as the planners have booked this 'appointment' into their busy schedule far in advance and it may not be so easy to reschedule.

:thumbsup2 This would be the issue people would have today. Specifically booking FP for the Princess/Queen. It's not like you booked for a 'visiting princess' princess:

Agreed. I would hope Disney would provide some sort of FP for guests to return another day, but somehow I'm doubting that's the case.
