Elsa and Anna Strategy

Okay going to be there next week. Is there a strategy to getting to see Anna or Elsa without waiting in line for 4 hours?

Like-if we have MM tickets, should we try to get in then and stand in line? Or go when it's not a MM time and stand in line? Or.. try going in the afternoon?

Any tips?

Most reports indicate that you have to be at the front of the rope drop crowds on a non-MM/EMH morning if you want to avoid the multi-hour wait. I don't know how MM/EMH mornings go, but my understanding is that they do not start greeting until the park opens to the public, so even if you get there at the opening of MM/EMH, you still have an hour to wait at least. If you wait until the afternoon, the line will be hours long. The line basically builds from when the line starts forming until they close off the line and never really decreases; the only time I heard of the line being "short" (i.e., 1.5 hours) was on a day when it was pouring rain and the crowds in the park was low.

On Sat. May 24th, stood in line a little before 8:00am with NO early morning entry. Sped walked to the A & E rope line, was escorted to the meet & greet, took photos with Anna & Elsa, rode a few rides, meet & greet with Mirada, hopped on the monorail with plenty of time for our 10:20 character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.

Thanks.I was just thinking of going on a MM/EMH, let my mom and DH take the kids to ride while I stand in line and then get them in line at park opening. Ahh, but we'll see!

Alright if I could please order 1 day of absolutely bucketing rain...well until we walk out of our A&E meet and greet when it magically improves

This works! We did it and had a 5-10 min wait. When we were finished the wait time was up to 3 hours

And remember that you need to be at the gates at least a half hour before park opening. They let folks in early and then hold the "Rope Drop" at the end of main street. That queue can get pretty big, so I imagine it makes a big difference of where you at in that queue. We were towards the front and DW hustled pretty good to the line.

With a wait like that, for now, it's too bad that they couldn't have FP's for it like they do in Florida. That's an insane wait for a character meet-and of course, one of the ones my son wants to see (sigh).

I was at MM in Disneyland this week. I can confirm that Anna and Elsa were meeting guests during MM. I inquired about the wait about 30 minutes into MM and was told the wait was 4 hours long. I was pretty surprised, but the MM at DL was very crowded this week.

As I've said before I bet you even if you lined up outside the park gates with all the early access at 3AM or 4AM the lines would still be HOURS long. Even IF the A/E meet and greet took place at 5AM or 6AM it would be LONG lol.

Just did this on Friday. It was EMH at DCA, so I knew I could be at the front of the line. Got to bag check at 7:15...wasn't open yet and was second in line for that. Then got at the front of the line to go through the gates at 8:30. They were lining people up at the partner statue and I was 7th. They take the line back to the M&G area before rope drop so that runners won't jump ahead of you. I only had a 15 minute wait if that once 9:00 rolled around.

Two pieces of advice...first pick a gate all the way to the left, being sure that you pick one that will be an entrance gate. This will put you with a straight shot through the tunnel into the park and you will be on the left side of main street, which is where the line forms at the hub.

Second, they will tell you to walk and the CMs will remind you of this as you go down Main Street. I slowed down to a brisk walk a few times, which is why I was 7th and not first. Obey at your own peril. They do nothing to punish the runners and if you walk the whole way, I guarantee you will have a 45+ minute wait even if you are the first into the park. Unfortunately you will need to hustle. I never sprinted, but I did jog or fast walk the whole time and got passed by a few people.

Just met Anna Friday. Got at security 7:45 front of ticket gate. They opened ticket gates at 8:30 people dash. Immediately when you get to main street there are cm with signs directing you into a single file line for frozen meet and greet. They walked the line back 10 min before rope drop. A few later arrivers tried to sneak through with the line they were kicked out to regular road drop. You have to be early the end of the escorted line was 2 hrs. I waited 10 min. Downside the first hour was only Anna luckily my girls were in good spirits about it. Ugh. Glad disneyland worked out a safer line solution

Forgot to add daddy brought kids at regular rope drop time and they met me in line. Worked perfect since they don't start meeting until park open. went straight to merida after with no line since everyone was at frozen good luck!

MME125...I think we were the couple standing behind you in line! We had the 6 year old daughter in the Elsa shirt. Bummer that we only got Anna, but at least we made it through the line fast!

if i go in nov to this line, i want to meet both, does that mean i have to wait an hour? elsa isnt meeting for the first hour. is this all the time or just at this time?

My little girls had the elsa head bands.they took it well and were still happy, hope yours daughter was too! Definitely happy not to waste all day in line

Hi Pixar Mark! I was the tall lady first in line in the other line at Bag check! Glad the meet and greet for the princesses worked out for you! We ended up being first on RSR! (the little guy in my photo is now 8 lol)
