Elsa and Anna meet and greet strategy

Just got back and all last week it was 9 am. My husband ran from the entrance closest to the Beach Club when it opened at 9 am along w the other dads. He got 6 in line for the 11 am meet and greet. It was comical to see the dad's sprinting to get in line.

The only ones ahead of him were the breakfast skippers.

It is a long wait - but worth it.

the park opening rush is something my brother would do for my daughter, and himself. he is a character freak. lol. If people have a line -----waiter what happens whenb the family shows up in line, does a war break out with other line-waiters?

Meeting A&E are at the top of my 2 DD's list like the rest of you. But for those thinking there isn't anything else to do in Epcot, you might want to look into it alittle more. Almost all of the other countries have M&G and usually with very little waits, unlike MK. We have met Snow White, Jasmine & Alladin, Marie, Pooh and Friends, Mulan all with almost no wait. Epcot is our families favorite park by far as a whole, but of course the little ones LOVE to do MK:). Also if you are going during the spring the Flower and Garden show has some fun stuff to look at and do. Have a great trip.

This will absolutely be stopped in short order, as soon as they start seeing an empty dining room. My guess is the no show fee will go up in price for this restaurant, most likely to reflect the cost of the meal. Not that it would stop some people from doing it.

booking an ADR and choosing to skip it, and pay the fee sucks for those who want legitimate early morning ADRs. Hopefully Disney figures out that they obviously need a different strategy to allow folks to meet Ana and Elsa.

I know my daughter wants to meet them, but this all sounds crazy .. WDW powers that be, lets make this better!

They'll have to change it to prepaid like CRT, but anyone on the dining plan would still be out only $10 a head.

when you arive at EPCOT at rope drop world showcase will not be open.As soon as it does speedwalk to Norway and get the kids there without letting them see any signs that say FROZEN on them so it will be a suprise! If they get bored just let them know that they will be happier once the wait is over. MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO NOT SEE ANY SIGNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hyper::bitelip::blush::cutie:

To be clear, Norway will be open at rope drop. Go there at rope drop for shortest possible wait without an Akershus ADR.

I think they should start the line with the first 20 or so Guests who arrive from the Gate,THEN allow the Akershus Guests to get in the line thereby greatly reducing the incentive to book Akershus just for the Meet.:)

Really? I am sorry but if my daughter LOVED Anna and Elsa then I (and I presume most other parents who are on vacation) would at least give a good try at making this happen for their little ones.

But I am glad you realize you are being a stick in mud.

My daughter will turn 3 on this trip. We are going there for her birthday so if she wants to meet Elsa and Anna for her birthday I will make that happen. Her birthday is not my opportunity to teach her about opportunity costs. Besides, that lesson would be totally lost on a 3 year old. The only other Epcot attractions that she can do and/or is interested in are turtle talk and nemo so the fact that we are waiting 2 hours to see Elsa and Anna is not cutting into our park time.

Maybe its just me, but Disney to me is seeing my children's dreams come alive right before their eyes. My daughter loves to pretend that she is Elsa and her little sister is Anna. I would love nothing more that to see her face when she gets to meet Elsa. Being a mother of two little girls, I think that the message that frozen teaches (sisterly love) is a message I am more concerned with at this point than "opportunity costs." So, in response, she "obviously has to" meet them.

Right on! Every time someone disagrees with someone else's vacation priorities they feel the need to cast judgement. I wish we could all assume on these threads that the person seeking advice has already weighed and made their decision. :rolleyes1

When we arrived a cm asked how many in our party. We told her 5 there was only two if us. She has a clicker and told us we were number 6 for the 11am time. She closed the ine about 9:30. And opened up for the 12:00 show. There were no kids in line until about 10:30 when the line started filling up for the 11am meet

No one was getting upset

No, people are told to have 1 person wait. The cast is keeping head count with a clicker. They do not want whole families clogging up the area.

We chose to forgo Elsa and Anna this trip. 6 hour wait times were just too much with a 3 and 5 year old. It was our 5 year old's birthday and SHE decided it was not the wisest choice to stand in a line for such a long time....such a wise little girl! I did take her around the shop and let her peek in at them. We will get her in to see them when we go back in November. If we only had ONE chance to see them, then maybe we would have gone a different route. I can assure you, my son and daughter had absolutely magical birthdays during our two week celebration....despite not meeting Elsa and Anna.

Guest relations should be able to tell you the precise start times of all of the entertainment for the entire week.

EXACTLY. My son is obsessed with Woody/Buzz and THANKFULLY the lines aren't as crazy but if that was the only time he could see them, I would wait for them. He was two on the last trip and I still get chills seeing the excitement when he met Woody in person for the first time (we were on the train to frontier land when he spotted them below and I swear I had to hold him back from jumping off). I looked at my husband after that meet and greet and said -- this was worth all the money we spent on this vacation. We made our little boy's dream come true.

We have an 8 a.m. ADR scheduled, with the assumption that they will still be meeting at 9. We are going to all go to breakfast, but either my husband or myself will duck out around 8:40 or 8:45 while the kids finish breakfast. We've done this breakfast before and I doubt it will be a problem to eat in that amount of time. And we've used the same strategy at Hollywood and Vine so we didn't miss the mad rush for Toy Story fast passes and had success. If we have to wait a bit to meet them because other people skipped breakfast, we can deal with that. I don't want my husband to have to miss the breakfast, and I don't want to miss it either. So I'd keep the 8:10, get there at 8 and ask for your check shortly after you sit down so one of you can leave before rope drop.

Is there any advantage to staying at an Epcot resort? We normally stay on-site but this will be our first time staying at an Epcot resort so I'm unsure of the entrance timing and distance.

I have two girls and a boy and they all three Frozen Superfans. One of the 5 dance recital songs my daughter has about 2 weeks after our trip is Let it Go so I know it will be a must. My husband loves the idea of telling them Norway is closed. But my mother is Norwegian and visiting Norway is a requirement for her plus the Disney channel had a piece showing they were meeting in Norway so they know they are there.
