My fiancé and I are planning on visiting Disney in late October of next year (we just got engaged last weekend in Disney!) and we wanted to have a very quick, very simple vow exchange at our resort--in our wedding attire. :cool1: We plan to do this early in the morning (we're staying at Port Orleans-Riverside and want to do this on one of the bridges) and friends will be photographing/ officiating.

My question is, will this be grounds for getting us kicked out? I know about the rule of "no wedding attire" in the parks during regular hours but surely it would be okay at our resort? We would be done no later than 8 A.M. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I certainly can't answer this, unfortunately. I've never heard of someone getting married on a resort property if they didn't go through DFTW. My initial thoughts would be that if you were caught, security would probably stop you. I don't think they could "kick you out," because you'd be paying customers at the hotel. I would think they'd stop your wedding though (which would, of course, mess up your pictures).

Disney has an elopement package though, that I think would essentially meet what you're looking for (aside from the fact that it wouldn't be at Riverside). I imagine that you've looked at disneyweddings.com...but I really think the Memories package ($2,495) would be perfect for you. It's spendy for an elopement...but it's still at Disney.

Yes, this is grounds for you getting kicked out if caught. All weddings on property must be arranged through DFTW (except the locations operated by other entities, such as the Coronado springs convention center/rix lounge, and the swan and dolphin). On property means the theme parks and the resorts.

There are probably many CMs who would see you on the grounds and say nothing, but all it takes is one to ruin everything for your wedding day. Even before 8 am there will be many people up and about, including guests and CMs.

The no wedding attire rule is for the parks, unless you have arranged a photo shoot. I'm not trying to be a downer, I really couldn't care less if people do this stuff, I just would not be able to relax and enjoy it knowing that at any moment we could be caught and kicked out.

Short answer: yes. This is grounds for explusion from property.

Look into the Memories Collection through DFTW.

Maybe you could get a suite in one of the hotels and do a little ceremony that way? Since it's in your room I doubt anyone would notice!

Wedding clothes and out of doors at any resort would attract a lot of attention. It's one thing to take pictures, which you can do, another to exchange vows and have people with you. It's against WDW policy. There are off property options that can provide you opportunities like what you describe outside WDW.
