Elmers Glue as a moisturizer?

For the toothpaste... do you rub it in or let it dry on your face?
I need acne help XD

Wow i'am still in completly still in shock a day later with the same amout of shock the moment i read the first page of this thread.

I've never heard of the glue thing, but I DO know that it can't be a moisturizer. I had some glue that dried on my hand once, and it actually hurt when I took it off, and it left my skin all dry and funny. I can imagine it would probably to funny things to your pores.

I've heard of the toothpaste thing but I've never tried it. I'm guessing it's the alcohol in toothpase that dries out a pimple, so I think using rubbing alcohol (just a little though!) could help too. Don't use too much, or it'll ruin your skin.

Well if it's the rubbing alchol in the toothpaste don't even bother. I have all kinds of different alcohol based acne stuff, none of it works pbesides proactiv...

I highly suggest ProActiv to anyone who had acne problems. There is also a "ProActiv" at WalMart its the same thing but just under a different name...

I would just suggest going to a dermatoligist [sp?] and get real acne medicine. That's how your going to get the best results.

I would really recommend Differn. It has been really good for me

Oh Differen doesn't work for me at all. My dermatologist gave me some and all it did was completly dry out all of my skin. And it made my face all red and gross.

It must work for only certain people?

I have tried a lot of stuff for my skin, and nothing so far seems to help the acne. I get really deep-rooted blackheads on my nose and chin (that the nose strips unfortunately don't remove) and little red pimples on my chin and forehead. Thankfully, I outgrew the collosal-zit stage last year and I no longer get those big nasty ones.

Anyways, I have tried Clean & Clear, H²0, Bioré, Dermalogica, Olay, Dove, Vichy, The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil, and this all-natural gunky stuff from Lush. I even tried mixing bread yeast and egg yolks together and spreading it on my face, but NOTHING works. I'm getting some new stuff tomorrow and hopefully this goes better, but at this point I'm up for anything; I'm SO trying the toothpaste.

So tell me, how do I do this, just spread it on? How long do I leave it on for? And does the brand matter?

For the toothpaste, just dab a bit about the size of a large pea on the blemish you want to get rid of. The longer you leave it on, the better. Brand doesn't really matter.

Never tried it although I might have in an earlier lifetime had I heard about it. Every now and then I see an ad showing cross section of skin and something being peeled off and the blackheads come right out. Perhaps the glue soaks right in and does just this.

A disadvantage of glue, it is much more difficult to remove from clothing. If you were a boy you might have fewer problems in this regard especially when you have to put it all over your body. (Do boys have more problems with zits on the body? I did.)

ACtualy I have used rubbing alcohol before, if you put just a lil dab on a cotton ball and dab your zit or hold itthere for a while, it does actually help dry it out, just becareful not to use it all over your face, ti will dry your skin out as well.

whoever decides to try the glue thing, pm me and tell me how it works. i think i may try that toothpaste thing, though.

I use any sort of cleanser, and then I put Clindoxyl gel on it. But you've got to go to the doctor to get Clindoxyl gel.
It works pretty good, but if you are still using it aft 120 days of having it, it will dry your face out, make it red and itchy.

I haven't heard of either of these! How odd!

I have tried a bunch of stuff; right now I'm trying ProActiv. It worked really well for the first couple of weeks, but I'm not seeing much of a difference now. But I'm trying to stick with it!

I use proactiv. Now I didn'thave really bad acne to begin with, but occasionally losts of blackheads, zits and those big painfully zits. Sometimes I feel as if it doesn't work very well because I still get those big nasty painful ones, but I've been using it for quite some time and I think overall it's worth it.
