I finally checked on my left foot this morning that has been hurting since we got to WDW. I have plantar fasciitis in my right heel so I never expected a problem with the other foot. I had looked at it last night and didn’t see anything. Well, I guess after soaking in the hot water it made the blister pop up. Wow. :scared1: I can count on one hand the number of blisters I have had in my entire life. I guess I have been extremely lucky because I just never have a problem with that. How do you get a blister on the bottom of your foot? I didn’t know what to do but it hurt like heck. I thought about popping it but this was Tuesday and we didn’t leave until Saturday. What if it got infected or made it worse? Fortunately I had brought some stuff similar to mole skin. I picked this rubber looking stuff up in a clearance bin about a year before because I had read on these boards that you might need it sometime. I am so glad I did. It came in sheets and it was about an eighth of an inch thick. I did have some scissors so I cut a square to fit over the blister and it helped some. Nothing is going to keep me from going to the parks. I can heal my feet back home.

The plan today was to go to Blizzard Beach. We still have 2 waterpark features on 2 passes from our last trip so it was a freebie. DS really wanted to do Summit Plummit this time and I finally said yes with my teeth gritted. That thing scares me to death. We heard later on that a guy got hurt on that thing when he tried to sit up and started flipping over. We got into the suits and were out at the bus stop early, 8:30 I think, but it was so crowded. Mostly with teens. Then I remembered that Typhoon Lagoon was closed for refurbishment. I told DS about this and that BB might be soooooo crowded that we may not enjoy it that much. He agreed so we walked (I hobbled) back to the room and changed and were back at the bus stop really quick for a bus to Animal Kingdom. Got there by 9:30 so not so bad. We were able to ride Everest twice standby with only 20 minute waits. I really love this ride. The standby time was getting longer so we got a Fastpass and went to Dinosaur. By the time we got there we were eligible to get a FP for it which we did. So we backtracked and rode Kali River Rapids. DS is hungry by this time (what else is new you are saying) so we went to get a quick bite at Restaurantasaurus. Well, it is not open yet but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. DS is hungry and like any other baby gets fussy when he is hungry. DS had a hamburger and a hotdog and fries. I got the chicken nuggets and fries and it was not bad. Time for Dinosaur and there was a family in line behind us with 2 very little ones, about 3 and 4. The kids did not want to ride at all and the parents had not ridden it before apparently. They thought it was like Its Tough to be a Bug. The kids were in tears and they even handed out brave pills (gummy bears) but it didn’t work. Finally a CM stepped in and said maybe they shouldn’t ride. It is a good thing. I remembered it from 2 years ago but had forgotten how loud and how dark and how intense it can be. Those kids would have been scarred for life. Back to Asia for our FP for Everest. Can you tell we love this ride? We decided to head out but went back through Dinoland and rode the spinning ride that I can’t think of the name for right now. Standby was only 10 minutes so we rode that twice. Those floors on the walkway to the ride really hurt my feet so I was glad to get away from it.

After a rest in the room we headed for O’Hana’s for our 6:00 ADRs. I had heard so much about this restaurant and couldn’t wait. We had the best seat. We were by the window in the main room with a view of the volcano and the castle. You could not have asked for a better view. The food was very good, especially the dessert which is a coconut bread pudding with bananas foster sauce. OMG. That is about the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. I almost licked the plate clean.

Time for EMH at AK. We went to the bus stop and waited and waited and waited. Finally the bus came and as we started to get on the driver says you know we are shutting the park down. It closes at 7:00. I felt so stupid. I thought it was EMH and it wasn’t. We went to MK by the monorail instead and got there just after Spectro. I know there are lots of people who love parades but Disney could cut out just a few I think. Why not have parades maybe 3 days a week instead of 2-3 times a day most days? If you are highly sensitive you might not want to read this part. I might offend someone. We do know how to manage the parades though and we went around to try to get to Splash and BTMRR. Well, we came to that area right near Pecos Bill’s I think where the walkway is right by the river and is very narrow, about 2 feet wide in some places. We hit a logjam. No one was moving in either direction. I am standing there and literally could not move an inch in any direction. I have never seen anything like this before. One lady put her 2 year old son up on the stone wall that drops down pretty far on the other side and let him walk a few feet to a sibling. What? Are you crazy? That kid could have fallen and would have been killed or seriously injured. Finally this lady starts screaming “I have two wheelchairs here!!!!” Honestly, I don’t know what she expected anyone to do. We were packed in there like sardines, really. I think there was a double stroller going the opposite way and the wheelchairs and the double stroller were what was causing the logjam. Finally, after about 10 minutes, someone managed to get the wheelchairs moving and the road cleared somewhat. But this lady was irate. I was about a foot from her and I could not tell she had a wheelchair. I thought it was a stroller but then even if everyone knew it was a wheelchair what could we have done? My family has been so blessed not to have a child who has to use a wheelchair and God bless those wonderful caregivers who give their lives for these children but please, don’t try to bring a wheelchair, or a double stroller either, into a walkway that is that narrow and that crowded. It just is not going to work. You can’t force the walkway to get bigger and you can’t ask everyone to clear the way. (Off my soapbox now) We got to Splash and I got soaked as usual. I don’t know what it was about this trip but I got soaked everytime we rode this ride and I never had in the past. I am now cold, wet and very tired so I convinced DS to go back to the room. He is foul because we basically wasted our evening but we did stop and get some fudge on the way out so it wasn’t a total waste.

Tomorrow - MGM again

Finally we got to a park at opening. MGM was crowded but we were near the front of the crowd so we got FP for ToT and then rode RnR. DS is now hungry so we went to the ABC Commissary for breakfast. I remembered this place from our last trip and swore I would never eat there again because the food was just unusual. The breakfast though was standard fare. DS got a huge plate with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit. I got the biscuit and gravy and it was pretty good. Now time for our ToT FP so we rode that. Went back towards Lights, Motor, Action and ran into some friends that we did not know were there. We sat with them and enjoyed the show. It is really not my kind of thing but it was fun and I am glad we did it. Got to see Muppets next and DS was grumbling the whole time thinking it was a waste of time but he ended up really liking it. I knew he would. He always does. It is Disney for goodness sake. We had gotten another FP for ToT so we rode that again then it was getting near time for lunch so we headed over to Epcot on the bus. DS wanted to eat at the little Mexican fast food place. It was pretty good food but very crowded. We did manage to grab a table near the water and it would have been perfect for Illuminations. After lunch back to the hotel for a little rest. I never managed on this trip to be able to take a nap but at least lying down and propping the feet up helped. The blister on my foot is really bad but I keep padding it as best I can.

I can’t remember exactly when I took these pictures but figured this is as good a place to put them as anywhere. My goal this trip was to take unusual pictures or rather pictures of people doing unusual things at WDW.

Ladies, don’t let this happen to you.

In case you can’t see it that good, here is an enlargement.

Also, on the bus, I noticed the backpack of the man standing in front of me. He had a dog chewy bone in his backpack. Why do you need that to go to an amusement park?

Back to Animal Kingdom for EMH. Rode Kali River Rapids but only once. I didn’t get real wet and I didn’t want to push my luck but DS rode it again without getting very wet. We rode Everest 4 times and Primeval Whirl 2 times so EMH was worth it to us in AK. The crowds were not bad at all. I drug DS onto It’s a Bugs Life with him grumbling again but he ended up liking it just like I said he would. By this time the feet are killing me and we are tired so back to the hotel.

Sorry not that much to write on this update but tomorrow may be better. Scheduled, Epcot.

I was actually a little nervous about posting this picture. What if it was a member of this board? I would just die. Actually, it looks a lot like a friend of mine but I would never show her the picture or tell her. And I am like you, I would hope someone would tell me if I looked like that.

I was going to pick on you and say it was me, but I am not having a mean moment!!

Thursday

DS was very tired this morning but I was chomping at the bit to get going so I left him asleep and hit Epcot by myself. Rode MS, orange side of course, and loved it. I really want my brother to be able to ride this when we come back in a few years. He loves flying, space, etc. but has some health issues so we will have to see. Test Track was down, of course, so I didn’t get to ride that and I was going to do the single riders line too. Walked around some and time to meet DS at the front of the park and time for lunch at Coral Reef. I know, I know. I have heard all the bad reviews but I thought it can’t be that bad. Well, it can. Don’t get me wrong. It is really pretty inside and we had a good table on the second tier right at the edge so we could see better I think than anyone in the restaurant except for the lady who brought her toddler in to stand in all of the windows to see the fish. I could not believe she was doing this. I figured she was eating there and he was just getting a closer view but she went to all of the viewing windows, walked along the ledge right in front of people eating. I watched her and no, she was not eating there. They just came in for the view apparently. That is one reason I did not request a seat right by the windows.

I don’t know if you can see her in this picture. It is a little dark.

Oh, the food. DS got tilapia I think that was grilled. It was very seasoned, much too much for him and he is not picky at all. It did come with some greenbeans. I had the ceasar salad with fried scallops which would have been good if the lettuce was torn some. I’m not kidding. It was 3-4 whole pieces of lettuce with some croutons and 4-5 scallops on it. We did each get the lobster soup, kind of a bisque, and it was delicious as was the bread. Thank goodness we had the bread because two baskets of that did fill up the bottomless pit.

After lunch we rode Spaceship Earth and walked around some in World Showcase. I never get to spend enough time here. DS said he would go with me but he was itching to leave before we got past Canada. We took the boat to the Yacht and Beach Club because, you guessed it, DS is hungry again. Went to Beaches and Cream and he got a sundae at the to-go counter. No wait there at all. This is my kind of resort and I want to stay there so bad. I will have to try to talk DH into going with me for our anniversary in a few years. DS and I sat by the pool while he ate and I had a Diet Coke. Very relaxing. Back to World Showcase and finished it up. We had gotten FP for Mission Space earlier so we did those even though they were late. There was a wild group of school kids there, locals I think, and I nearly lost it one time. I think I did yell at one of them once but tried to be nice. Time to go back to the hotel and we had supper at the Foodcourt.

After a rest we went to MGM to see what we could ride. It had rained and the park was cleared a bit but still had to wait for ToT about 30 minutes. We rode that and got a FP for later. Rode RnR which had about a 50 minute wait and after that still stormy looking so the wait for ToT was nothing. We rode it twice. As we just got under the covered portion of ToT the bottom fell out, wind blowing, rain pouring and the poor people outside could not get in. By the time we got off the ride though the rain had quit but we decided to pack it in and go back to the hotel.

Tomorrow, Magic Kingdom

:rotfl:

I was laughing so hard at this poor lady...... my husband had to come over and see what I was "looking" at on the computer...... Let's just say that it's the biggest laugh I've had all day!!!

Also, on the bus, I noticed the backpack of the man standing in front of me. He had a dog chewy bone in his backpack. Why do you need that to go to an amusement park?

Maybe to pass time while waiting in line...:confused3 Or he's too cheap to buy the DDP :rotfl2:

Saturday

I can’t believe the trip is already over. It flew by so fast. We had originally planned to go to a park this morning but ME was picking us up at 12:00 and I was afraid we would be late. I didn’t think I would enjoy myself worrying and checking my watch every 5 minutes so we slept until 9:30. Last night the blister on my foot finally got the best of me so I popped it. I didn’t have a needle but managed to pop it with scissors (sorry for the squeamish) and it felt so much better. I wish now I had done it earlier and next time I will bring a needle and do just that.

Packed up everything and went to the food court for a bite. The blueberry muffins, by the way, are delicious. He wanted to use up some credits at the arcade so I got my camera and walked around some taking pictures.

Got a luggage carrier which was a great help instead of trying to wheel 4 bags plus carry a bag. The luggage carrier guy though had me fill out a form to check it out. No big deal but he gave me the form after I filled it out and said to bring it back when I turned it in. Huh? How would that help them keep track? Oh, well. We are flying SW and I asked this same guy where to check in when I got the luggage. He pointed me toward a line. Got back with the luggage and waited in the line for about 10 minutes and it doesn’t move. Finally, I asked someone and no, I don’t have to check in because I am flying SW. I thought so but didn’t want to mess up and miss the bus. Got us loaded on the next bus and to the airport with no problems. We get off the bus and the airport is sooooo crowded. It was packed, literally. I walk in with the luggage (I had read on SW website that MCO did not have curbside check in) and it is a madhouse. I am about to freakout. The line to check in for SW is, no kidding, at least a half a mile long. I even asked if that was the right line and yep, it was. We have 2 hours until our flight and there is no way we would have made it to check in in time. I then ask someone working there what I should do and she said, doubtfully, I could try curbside check in. What!? I didn’t think they allowed that at Orlando. Back outside with the 4 suitcases and my shoulder bag. The line closest to the left if very long, almost as long as the one inside. The line further down to the right only has about 5 people in it. I scurry up there and ask if this is the SW checkin and the nicest man says yes. He takes those heavy bags off of me and I gave him literally my last $5 as a tip. We will make it home after all.

We get to security and I am hoping to avoid the hassles we had flying in and explain that DS’s drivers license is out of date but I have his birth certificate and SW said it was okay. At first the lady says we will have to check in at the SW desk. Yeah, that huge line. Then I repeat about the birth certificate and she looks at it, marks some more on the boarding pass and we are off. We made it with no problem. I am cussing all terrorists at this time. This is all their fault.

We find out gate with no problem and it is still very crowded. DS is hungry again but settles for a drink and a brownie. I got one too at one of the little coffee shops. We are drinking our drinks and relaxing and DS says why do they allow glass bottles? I thought it was really stupid to allow glass anywhere that you would be allowed to get it on board. Made me a little nervous too. Finally our flight is called and we get on with our “A” passes. We are all settled in and the plane is almost full when this man comes on with his wife and 2 children about 8 and 6. He wants 4 seats together. Can you believe that? He was so angry that the stewardess would not make someone give up their seats. She told him she could ask for volunteers but she could not make someone give up a seat. Finally, his wife finds two seats up front that must have been cross the aisle from each other so she and the younger child sit there. The 8 year old sits behind us and father sits a couple of rows in front of us. He was absolutely ridiculous. He even said they would not fly if they couldn’t sit together. Hey. Why didn’t you get your boarding passes early? Why didn’t you fly Delta? Geez.

We had a great trip all in all. My feet survived and I am ready to go back and am even planning the next trip, LOL.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. When were you there exactly.... what days in March? We were there from Mar. 14-18. Seems like ages ago...:guilty:
