Some people love it, some people hate it.

Tell me about it, I've been to Epcot a bunch of times in the past but have never done this attraction (it was closed March '09 when were there).

Would my DD8 and DS6 enjoy it as well?

:tink:

It's air conditioned and a good place to take a nap (DH always falls asleep on it). :goodvibes

Im a teenage guy and I still enjoy it. Its by no means the most exciting thing there but its still cool. The ride starts out with a preshow with Ellen DeGeneres and a little Bill Nye the Science Guy, then you go on board the giant ride vehicle (moving napmobiles if youre riding for that purpose) and go on a nice little ride back in time, then return to a theater for a post show. The whole thing is about 45 minutes, with air conditioning; so the ride is great if you want to experience it and great if you want to sleep through it.

Don't miss the pre-show...or even show up late... or Ellen will scold you!

It is an excellent way to rest when it it is really hot outside. We took a nap on it too. It beats having to go back to the hotel for a break.

Personally, I love it. Actually, it's one of my dad's MUST-DO's while we're at WDW. We love Ellen, we love Bill Nye... perfect combo! Like others have said, it's a great ride to go on when it's really hot outside. And I guess you could nap on it.... but then you're missing out!!!! Haha I don't get why people hate it so much. It's a nice change of pace from the frantic hot world outside.

It is one of our family's favorite attractions and my kids are in hs and college!

The pre-show is very funny -- especially if it's new to you. :lmao:

The rest of the attraction is entertaining, typical Disney educational topic :teacher: mixed with fun.

As others have said, no matter what it is 45 minutes of AC. :rotfl:

Your DS might like it. It has dinosaurs in it :)

DD and I rode it for the first time in Nov. It was okay, very imformative, but really really long.

My 6-year-old grandson loves it. But then he's pretty enthusiastic about most everything.

I knew that the Dinosaur attraction would be too scary for him, but I figured that he might like the dinosaur animatronics in the Energy Adventure, and he did.

No one has mentioned that there are animotronic dinosaurs that the kids will think are pretty cool. My kids liked it last year. I fell asleep.

I've never done it either, but this trip coming up, I plan on seeing it while the kids ride Mission Space umpteen times instead of hanging out in the gift shop.

It's a must do for me! Now for my kids (DS13 & D9 & DH) - they prefer to skip it. They go ride Test Track or Mission Space while I'm on Ellen! I'll admit is IS long, they could have cut it down by about 10 min. to make it appeal to more people, but I just love it. I make sure I do it every trip because I can see it becoming one of those "extinct attractios!"

Stupid Judy! Stupid Energy!!

We (DH, DS - 5, DS 13) actually went for the first time last year. I felt the pre-show was a little too long to keep my five year olds attention, but he didn't mind the rest since we saw dinosaurs. The 13 year old stated he felt like he was in science class. :lmao: In my opinion only worth going if you feel like you have seen everything else you want to or you just need air conditioning for awhile :rotfl:

I really enjoy this attraction. I think the preshow is the best part...very amusing, especially if you like Ellen. I remember the dinosaur part from when I was a teen...a little different but pretty much the same, so I enjoy that part, too.

DS is 15 now, and has asked, no... insisted on going on Ellen's Energy Adventure every time we've been to Epcot since he first discovered it when he was five. He rates is as one of his "must do's" in WDW.

(DH and I enjoy it too, but we're nerds. ;))

Ellen's Energy Adventure is a silly but interesting look into how energy is produced and why it is needed in today's world. Ellen meets up with her neighbor, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and he explains the different types of energy, including a trip back to prehistoric times to talk about fossil fuels.

It is inside attraction with air conditioning that is a combination of a movie (Ellen and Bill), ride (theatre turns into ride cars), and animatronics (dinosaurs and I thinks some other stuff). It is 45 minutes long, so I would suggest doing it at the hottest point in the day.

The 4 year old we were with loved it. I'm not sure the two 9 year olds or the 12 year old would remember it. I think the 2 year old just kept trying to climb out of the car.

This is one of my FAV rides at Epcot!!! It's funny and witty and educational yet in a fun way. I never miss it!

the dinosaurs are really neat, Ellen is really funny, and its nice and cool,
BUT its discussion of fuel sources is a little biased,

I plan on seeing it while the kids ride Mission Space umpteen times instead of hanging out in the gift shop.

OMGosh, you sound like me. Or sitting across from the game that they play in the interactive area.

Oh, BTW, we never pass up Ellen. :)
