ellen's energy adventure

I really like it and I think my kids will enjoy (6 and 7). I even think they'll like the pre-show. They love Bill Nye, and (believe it or not) they enjoy watching Jeapordy (weird, I know). So, I think they'll get a kick out of the preshow.

I like that it is longer. While some longer things are boring (I just can't stomach sitting through Hall of Presidents again), I like the fact that there are some things that aren't over in 2 minutes. It helps make up for all of the "wait in long lines and have it over in just 2 minutes" attractions.

Is it true that you can exit this ride while the seating areas are not moving? I'm clausterphobic, and I have not done this ride in years because I can't handle the thought of being trapped for 45 minutes. But if I know that I can leave if I panic I might try it.

I do like it a lot, but last week was evacuated from it during a breakdown. It was kind of neat though, walked through the dinosaurs with the lights on.

Are you able to do the Great Movie Ride at MGM? If so, you are capable of doing this ride. The moving theater is huge, there is not one point in the ride where you feel closed in. There is no seatbelt or bar to buckle you in, at the end of the rows there is a little door that is closed so you can't leave until they open it or you jump over it, which I wouldn't recommend because it is there for your safety. There is one point in the ride that is total darkness. Good Luck!

I really enjoy EEA, it is soooo much better with Ellen and Bill Nye. I also agree it is a great place to nap, along with Spaceship Earth,Hall of Presidents and American Adventure.

Key elements that make for a good napping attraction:

1. noise level- Is the attraction very loud?
2. light level- Is the attraction dark enough?
3. length- Is the attraction long enough?

As you can see it has nothing to do with boredom. I find all of the above attractions very interesting and I love all of them, but I can still sleep through them if I need a power nap.

It's a LOUD ride, so if the little ones have a fear of loud sounds, it can be scary.

We took our 2 year old DS on this ride. He was really freaked out by how loud it was - it was ridiculously loud, the entire soundtrack, not just the "big bang". I had to hold my hands over his ears and hug him to me the whole time. He has never been one of those kids who is sensitive to all loud noises, but this ride really set him off.
It is indeed a nice cool rest on a warm day - we were able to walk in at the end of the preshow so missed what most are reporting as the boring part.

My 2 yr old ds enjoyed it mostly because of the dinosaurs. They are not as intense as the ones on Dinosaur. In fact, one of the dinosaurs "spit" on us during this ride and he still talks about that. He says he wants to ride it again. I think it's one of the slower rides, but I enjoy it anyway. I also really like Hall of Presidents though.

I think Ellen is so funny...I like this ride. I'm not going to say it's my FAVORITE, but I do get on it every couple trips or so. It DOES take a while, so we don't ccatch it everytime. :confused3 Plus, don't know what it is about it, but my sis's motion sickness kicks in on this one and it always makes her yak. So we have to be sure and ride when she isn't with us.
