EDIT: I read this wrong. I thought it said the rumors surrounding her engagement were false not that her engagement was false! Wow! Okay. Well at least we know she's not being taken advantage of.

I'm often surprised to hear how old some of our long-time celebrities are. But I'm actually surprised that Elizabeth Taylor is ONLY 78.

It's because she's always been "sickly." I can remember seeing her being pushed around in a wheel chair when I was a kid (that was quite some time ago, lol). She has almost died several times over the years. So it gives the impression she's much older then she is.

She's also pretty savvy and learned her lesson with Larry Fortenski I think. I'd bet she never marries again and if she did the person she married would only benefit while she's still kickin. She may be unwell physically but she still seems pretty sharp to me.

I think age is relative and doesn't necessarily mean someone's on the way out. My Grandma is 80yrs old and can run circles around me, lol! Seventies/eighties is not elderly anymore IMHO.

As an old time Howard Stern fan, it reminds me of Mark Harris and Martha Raye.

THAT'S who I was trying to think of...thanks!! When I heard this story, I kept thinking about the HS show, and knew he had Mark Harris on all the time, but I couldn't remember who he married.

We were antique shopping this weekend and found a Life magazine with Loz on the cover, and it proclaimed she was 40! (That was the headline).





I know she denied it, but when you are Liz Taylor, you can do what you want.
