I hate to admit that I never thought they would find her alive. I just don't recall anything like this happening before! There are so many questions but the important thing is that she is home safe and sound. I really hope she can recover from everything she went through. This is a true miracle!!

I found the Elizabeth Smart Thread from back in June when she first disappeared. It has the link to the Castaway Cay picture but I tried it and it looks like it is no longer in their data base.

I hope that the media is intelligent and sensitive enough to leave the child be in peace now. We DO NOT need the details of what she endured, bad enough the poor innocent child had to go through the kidnapping. That should be between her and her family and those whom her family elect to assist her through this readjustment period.

Might I be so presumptuous as to suggest that we take a personal stand in this matter and if we are offended by the information being asked or provided, let the media responsible know. DH and I are planning to e-mail those we consider offenders of this and let them know that she is a child and leave her alone! (Just in case they forget that in their blind ambition to make headlines or get ratings!)

God bless her and her family, and the couple that notified the police!

I totally agree with you about the media's sensitivity. You know they'll make a made-for-tv movie out of this now. I wish they would just leave Elizabeth alone and let her make sense out of what happened.

I doubt there will be a made for tv movie on this one...it would be totally out of character for her parents to give someone that right. They would still have to assign the rights to someone.

and the search. Just from what I have heard Mary Catherine who is the little sister is the one who first put the link between this wacko handy man and the man who could have abducted Elizabeth and her family went to the Police who did not take it seriously so the family went to the Media and held a news conference with a sketch of the wacko and that is how the 2 tipsters recognized him and called in tips.

Elizabeth's father said all along he believed she was ok and thank goodness she is.
