Elizabeth and the Seven Dwarves September 2009 TR *update 7/20 Complete

We got to the Main Street and saw that Mary Poppins was out for pics so we hopped in her shortline.

Waltdisney059.jpg

She was lovely and then my mom took the moment to embarass me. When I was little I used to love singing Disney songs whenever when we were in the car. So when i sang Jolly Holiday I always thought Bert's name was Hubert "It's a Jolly Holiday with You Bert" I thought she said Hubert. It was not until recently that my mom reminded me of this and she proceeded to tell this to Mary. Mary thought it was funny and was going to tell Uncle Albert next time she saw him because he would enjoy the laugh. The CM then handed us a magnet promoting the diamond edition of Snow White.

After our Mary experience we ducked into the confectionary to take a peak and I saw what I had wanted to give my Mom for her birthday. I had seen a pic on the Dis of a teapot with a scene from Alice in Wonderland along with a matching cup. So I took the opprotuinity when my Mom left to go find a restroom to grab it and have it shipped back to the resort. I also had grabbed her some Unbirthday tea. Well it took the kind CM forever to get everything set and the forms filled out so my Mom came back in and saw what I was buying. I told her it was for her birthday and she could not have it until then. It was a good thing she found out though because she said she had planned on buying it herself when we were back there on Monday.

So after he got everything together we went to check in for our 3pm ADR at the Plaza. it was about 20 til so we got our buzzer and found a seat. We watched the Snow White DVD promotional parade go by at about 10 of 3

WaltDisneyWOrld166.jpg

WaltDisneyWOrld167.jpg

Not great pics but oh well

We were then seated right at 3pm.

I did not take any pics as I was hungry and hot.

We both Ordered Ice teas and my mom had the (from allears)

Chicken Strawberry Salad - fresh garden greens, grilled chicken breast, fresh strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, tossed in a white zinfandel vinaigrette dressing

And I had the

Grilled Chicken Sandwich - grilled chicken breast topped with shaved ham and swiss cheese served on a flour-dusted Kaiser with fries.

They were both yummy and filling but we both had dessert.

Mom had

Original Banana Split - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream topped with hot fudge, strawberry sauce, crushed pineapple, chopped nuts, whipped cream and a cherry

and I had a plain old rootbeer float/

Again both good.

It would have been 38.05 OOP but we used two TS credits.

While we were eating we had originally planned to stay at the MK all day and see the Spectromagic parade and wishes but my mom decided she wanted to go rest at the resort for awhile and then hit DTD.

I agreed and we left the MK at 4:30 and were in our room by 5pm. I finally took the opportunity to take some room pics.

WaltDisneyWOrld168.jpg

WaltDisneyWOrld171.jpg

WaltDisneyWOrld172.jpg

So we relaxed for about an hour then got in the car and before we headed to DTD we hit one of the outlet malls that had the good Disney store.

We hit the jackpot at that one. We got tees for two of my Uncles, my younger cousins and picture frames for the neighbors. I also got a few things and my favorite was the Pirate Mickey I got (also got one for my cousin Phoebe for her birthday). It is different from the one I got in the park as he is wearing a dark blue outfit and holding a compass instead of a map.

Here they both are.

So after the outlet we headed towards DTD and were able to park right near the T-rex restaurant. There are no pics as I had forgotten the camera in the room.

We stopped in the lego store for some Star Wars lego stuff for my Cousin Herman for Christmas.

We shopped through World of Disney and Tren-D before making our way to the Christmas Store where we bought these

It was almost 9pm and we were hungry so we went to Wolfgang Puck Express and boy was it crowded but we were able to order our food, get our drinks, and find a table fairly quickly. We kept wondering why it was so crowded everyplace went. We both ordered the same thing

Iced tea

Rigatoni with Chicken Alfredo - fresh artisan rigatoni tossed in Alfredo sauce and sliced all-natural roasted chicken breast, topped with fresh Grana Padano parmesan with side salads and creme brule for desert. It was all yummy and our waiter was good at getting refills and bringing out our dessert.

OOP would have been 43.65 but we used 2 CS Credits.

After dinner mom went to find the restroom while I shopped in Pooh Corner and found the Kitty Girls a new place mat with Disney cats on it.

I met her on a bench outside the store and she was talking with an older gentleman who told her about the bomb scare on one of the buses and that was why DTD was so crowded since they were waiting for buses to be checked and to start running again.

We thanked the gentleman and made our way to the kitchen store where we got the Ratatoullie cookbook, the Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbook and a cinderella mug for my Aunt.

We hit basin and I got a few bath bombs before we decided to leave walking through WoD again. While walking to the car someone bumped into me and I stepped funny off the curb and boy did my ankle hurt. I knew it was not broken but I was in pain.

Once back at the resort I sat with my feet up and put ice on it before getting in the tub with one of the bombs and taking a bath. I took some tylenol and was asleep not long after.

Coming up next....Does my ankle stop hurting and I feel so stupid in this thing.

ETA: I found some receipts today and they jogged my memory that before leaving the MK we stopped at the bakery and bought a cinnamon roll for breakfast the next morning.

Good News!

Mom and I are looking into going back in November of 2010!!!!!!! We are currently pricing out the different resorts and are looking at the Caribbean Beach again for 7 days and 6 nights. We will wait and book until after the first of the year.

Loved your updates! Awesome that you are going back too!

LOVE CBR. It's our favorite Mod resort. My mom, sister and nephew are staying there in Sept. 2010. We'll be at WL.

Thanks.

I am excited about going back but we have to wait to book anything until after the New Year because there might be a group of us going, not just mom and I. Although I did announce to the others that I was staying at the CBR and they could just deal,

September was great when we went and it might be on our list again. It depends on who all is going. September if my dad's family goes with us and November if it is just my Mom, Godmother, and I.

Day 6 September 18, 2009

Animal Kingdom

So the alarm went off at 7:15 and I was a terrified about how my ankle would feel once I got up and stepped on it.

To my surprise is was not bad but I knew that if I tried walking trough an entire park I would be ruined for the rest of the trip so what to do? Well my mom sugessted getting an ECV like she was going to that day since my friend Val had warned her she might need on as the terrain is a little rough. At first I was appalled (No offense to those who do need them) and had to make the choice between going to Animal Kingdom or missing out since it was the only day we could with the ADRs we had.

I sucked it up, wrapped my ankle with an ace bandage, wore different shoes, and committed to getting an ECV once we got to the park.

We arrived shortly after 9:00 and had our bags checked and were in the animal kingdom. That park is beautiful and throughout the day it was easy to forget that we were actually in Florida at a theme park.

We made our way over to the rental place and got 2 ECV. (I want to aploligize to anyone who might have been in AK that day and had to witness my horrible driving of that thing. You should be required to have a permit to drive one) So after the papers were signed we went on our way.

Our first stop was to look around at the different paths and animals at the Oasis before making our way to Discovery Island were we then made the decision to hit the first show of FOTLK over at Camp Minnie Mickey which was at 10am. We got there and were shown where to park the ECV and were seated in what would be the wharthog section.

FOTLK is in my opinion the best show on Disney property. The acrobatics were spectacular and the performers had the most amazing voices.

Here are some pics my mom took. (it was humid that day hence the foggy camera)

Here is our section leader. She posed for my mom then wished her a happy birthday.

Once the show was over we decided to head over to Dinoland in order to see Finding Nemo at 11:45am. It was just pat 10:20 so we knew we had time to explore. We hopped back on our ECVs and headed back to Discovery Island.

We explored the animal trails and admired the Tree of Life from afar.
Various Tree Of Life Pics from throughout the day

Once we got to Dinoland we continued on to get some pics in Asia.

By the time we finished it was time to get in line for Nemo. They let us in and parked our ECVs for us and sat us in the front row on the main level. These seats were good and the show was fabulous. I only took one pic

WaltDisneyWOrld181.jpg

I love Disney shows. They are so well done and you get lost in them.

So after Nemo what did the rest of the day hold for us and why is Rafiki proposing to my mom?

I love all your AK photos! We had to skip it this past trip due to time constraints and I was really disappointed to miss FOTLK.

Thanks. I think the main reasons I would go back to AK is for FOTLK and the Safari. I am not a huge thrill seeker so none of the other stuff really appealed to me.

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday season. I had a good time over the holidays with my family and friends.

I am going to try and get an update in by Friday. We have been super busy around here trying to declutter the house before I go back to school.

Yes I am heading back to school to finally complete my degree :banana::cool1::cool1:

I had stopped going fulltime back in the Spring of 2008 when my dad got real sick and have not been ready to back until now. I start classes on February 1st and can not wait.

That's awesome that you're going to be able to go back to school!

Thanks. It is really nice because the goverment has now made it possible to collect unemployment and go to school at the same time. I am still looking for a job but it helps to know that I can pay for books and gas at the same time.

Sorry for the delay.

Day 6 continued

So we left off after the Finding Nemo show.

Once we were let out Mom and I made are way to Asia to take a look at the trails there.

I was so impressed with all the theming in the area. The attention Disney pays to the smallest detail is incredible. Also I was surprised by how much cooler it was back on some of the trails. I was expecting it to be dreadfully hot and I do realize they have fans along the trails but it was just impressive to me.

Then we made our way to Africa and boarded our two week safari.

The wait was only 10 minutes and here are a few pics.

WaltDisneyWOrld191.jpg

WaltDisneyWOrld192.jpg

I wish I could have gotten more but the car moves so fast you barely have a chance to take any pics. My mom and I were so impressed that you actually feel as if you are on safari and not a theme park in the middle of Florida.

After capturing the poachers mom and I decided to head out the park. We were both tired and had seen the major attractions we had wanted to see. So off to the front of the park we went and we turned in our ECV's and we spotted Meeko and Rafiki out taking pics. They had no one around them so we hopped over.

WaltDisneyWOrld193.jpg

Now my Mom had stepped up to Rafiki first and as soon as he saw her he dropped to his knees and signed to her that he "hearted" her and procceeded to kiss her hands. At first I was a little appalled but then I saw the benefits of her dating Rafiki like getting into any park we wanted at anytime and being able to hang out with Timon and Pumbaa.

Next was my turn

WaltDisneyWOrld197.jpg

We exited the bag check and I decided to hop into the gift shop right outside the baggage check. Well mom decided she needed to hit the little girls room so back through baggage claim she went while I shopped. I bought myself a stuffed Eeyore dressed to go on safari, a tee that has Pooh asking an elephant with a boy on it's tail "Eeyore is that You" and a mug for my Aunt that has Pooh asking a tiger "Tigger is that You?".

So after I paid I found a bench to wait for her at and she came up to me holding her camera and apoligizing profusely. This is why

Waltdisney085.jpg

I forgave her and we headed to the buses.

Now a question for you, how does a bus driver who drives around the area all the time get lost? Ours not only got lost once on his way back to the CBR but twice. So a bus ride that was only supposed to take about 20 minutes ended up taking almost 40.

After getting back to the CBR we headed to the food court for lunch to take back to our room.

I had a personal pepperoni pizza with a smart water and the chocolate cake for dessert. I thought the pizza was good and the cake was so yummy.

Mom had the Oriental chicken salad with a perrier and carrot cake. She said the salad was really good and finished every last bit.

We both decided to take a nap so with the alarm set for 5:30 about 2 hours we both nodded off to dream land before getting up to get ready to go to the Poly for our Kona dinner at 7:45pm.

We had decided to drive over seeing as my mom has a handicap sticker and valet parking is free.

We left the CBR at 7 and made our way to the magic kingdom area and proceeded to get lost. We did not veer off to the right soon enough so we had to go back on through and finally got to the Poly at 7:30. So after giving the keys to the valet we raced upstairs to check in. We gave her our names and she said it would be about a 20 minute wait and handed us a pager that would work anywhere upstairs. So we explored the upstairs gift shops where I started my pin collection. I bought Stitch dressed like Elvis, Mickey dressed as Jack Skellington, and an OSU Mickey Mouse pin. Mom found some scrapbooking supplies and just as we finished paying we were buzzed. We were taken to our seats and both ordered ice teas.

We both had the Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini $27.99 (allears)

OMG!!! One of the best steaks I have ever had. The teriyaki glaze was so good and it was served with rice instead of the potatoes.

For dessert I had the A Sweet Ending to Your Celebration... White Chocolate Cheesecake - Cheesecake with a hint of white chocolate, strawberry coulis, and whipped cream $5.49 (allears)

Again delicious. I love white chocolate anything.

Mom had coffee and the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee - with a chocolate spiral $5.99 (allears)

She said it was the best creme Brulee she has had in awhile.

We paid with our 2 table credits and she even put some coffee in a to go cup for my mom.

When we were finished we explored a little bit of the downstairs gift shop and made our way back to the valet stand. After tipping the valet guy we were on our way back tothe CBR. After stopping to refill our mugs we retired for the evening.

Up Next: A little laundry, a dip in the pool and a trip around the world in under 24 hours.

I love the character shots you got as you were leaving AK, and your Kona dinner sounds great!

Thanks. Kona was so good and is a must on our list if we go back.

I will try and update this Sunday. It has been very busy around here with getting ready for my Grandma's 90th Birthday party this weekend and getting ready for classes that start on Monday.

Just wanted to give a little update on an upcoming Disney trip. We had orginally planned to go back this year but my Uncle (mom's brother) expressed interest in going in 2011 after their youngest (He is 6 months old) is a little older. After discussing it we decided we could wait another year, save up some more and be able to experience it with my younger cousins which will be so magical. So instead My mom. Aunt, and I will e heading to Tybee Island in Georgia this fall for a week to spend time at the beach and surrounding areas.

Day 7 September 19, 2009.

At 9am we awoke refreshed and ready for our afternoon of traveling around world showcase. But first there were some chores to take care of. We needed to do laundry and I had been dying to get into the pool for days. So we got on our swimsuits, grabbed our mugs and laundry. Mom headed to Old Port Royale to fill our mugs while I headed to the quiet pool in Martinque. The pool area is very nice and it was not to crowded.

Here are the only pics we took

Waltdisney086.jpg

Waltdisney087.jpg

I found a table for us and waited for my mom to return. She came a few minutes later and we headed in to do laundry. Now I had bought some of those Purex all in one sheets and it was one of the 2 items I forgot to pack so we had to buy our detergents and fabric softner there which was okay cause we only had enough for one load.

So as the clothes were washing we swam a little (Well mom swam a little, I swam like I was a fish that had not seen water in years). After a half hour we were able to switch the laundry to the dryer and swim some more. It was almost 12:00 by this time and we had planned on getting to Epcot by one and we still had to eat lunch. So I headed back to the room to shower and change while mom waited for the dryer to finish. And by the time I was done and dressed she was back to the room ready for her shower. So as she showered I put the clothes away and began sorting out what I wanted to wera for our last 2 days ( :sad1: ) while packing up anything I felt I would not need.

Once Mom was ready we headed down to Old Port Royal about 1:15 to grab a quick lunch. We both had the cheesesteak sandwich with pasta salad. I had the chocolate cake yet again for dessert and she had cheesecake. We both also got bottled waters It would have been $36 but we used two Counter service credits.

I will say the Cheesesteaks were okay. Not something I would by dying to have again.

Before heading to the bus Mom hit the gift shop to buy a new hat as she did not like the one she brought with her.

We were at the bus by 2:00 and in Epcot by 2:30. We had dinner ressies at Les Chefs de France at 5:30pm and wanted to get some of world showcase down before dinner.
