Eleven Month Booking Window Question

Hi everyone, we are new to DVC and are in the process of making our first booking. When I look at the information on the Eleven month booking window it seems at 8 am May 29, I could book for next April 29 And the window is to open at 8 am. Is this correct? Last night at midnight EST, May 29, I was already able to book for April 29. Am I not understanding the calculation or does the window to book open before 8 am sometimes?? Thanks for the help.

You cannot book at 11-months out from date of arrival until 8 a.m. Eastern. However, the online system will show you availability in relation to the applicable arrival date starting at midnight. However, it will not allow you to actually book with the applicable start date until 8 a.m. In other words, you can take preliminary steps to book the particular date as your start date beginning just after midnight, but you cannot actually complete a booking with that as the start date until 8 a.m..

At least, that is what it is supposed to do. If you in fact completed a booking with an April 29 start date before 8 a.m. today, then the system is allowing something you are not supposed to be able to do. There was another report earlier this month of someone being able to actually book a trip with a particular start date before 8 a.m.

Hi Drusba, well, I only did a mock booking last night right up to the point of finalizing it but I didn’t actually hit the last button so perhaps I couldn’t have actually booked it, it seemed like it but maybe not. I didn’t know the availability calendar would highlight April 29, before 8 am on May 29, that’s good to know! Thanks

Wow, that was definitely a glitch. I’ve read a similar post recently and tested myself, but got stopped immediately with the message that I was outside my window.

Did you actually get beyond the calendar page where you select your contract, enter guest names, etc? If so then definitely a glitch as it should tell you that you are not within the booking window when you select the days and try to get to the next page to book.

I did! It was our very first day with points so we were just playing around with the booking website but we were thinking of booking for April 29 2022 and figured we would need to do that this morning at 8 am but it seemed to be available last night? I don’t see the 30th available today so maybe it’s back to normal.
