Spent last week at VWL, had a great trip.
One day when I was taking the trash out, I was stopped by a woman who identified herself as the head of housekeeping fro the Villas. She wanted to know how our stay was and could she be of any assistance. She asked if there was anything the staff could improve upon. She seemed very genuine and we talked for about ten minutes. During our conversation, the condition of the inside of the guest elevator doors came up. If any of you have seen them recently, they are in sad shape. Seems that someone tried to clean the brass with a chemical that was corrosive. She said they had contacted the manufactuer and hoped to have them tip top soon. Very nice woman, people like her are why Disney has such great customer service.
The pool at the villas was open during our entire stay and I enjoyed it often during our mid-day break from the parks.
We stayed in 4552, which is a dedicated 2 bdr. The layout of the main bath was a little diferent than the model. No door for the commode. We didn't mind the diference, actually felt it made the bath seem more spacious.
On the recomendations of many on the boards and from previous stays at OKW, I packed a medium size nonstick frypan. Much to my suprise, we found that the cookware at VWL includes many pans with nonstick linings. Now maybe I'll have room for my coffee grinder. ( Java Junkie)
We had 8 in the 2bdr and another 2 in a studio. Also, 4 other family members staying at Port Orleans. Would you believe we were able to have all 14 over to our 2bdr for a family pasta dinner on Halloween night prior to all of us going to MNSSHP.
Just for the record, there is enough seating for 14 if you use the chairs on both balconies and the two chairs in the second BD. I wonder, is there some dining limit on page 32 of the member guidebook
It was a little tight in the living room, but hey, we were all family
Thanks to everyone for all of the tips and suggestions. Many of these helped to make the trip a sucess
