it will be fridays, saturdays and sundays as was glowfest. i will admit that the during the day glowfest was a eye sore, but at night it rocked.. talk about cutting a rug! i think i burnt tracks into the concrete, but electronica, during the day looks fantastic and i cannot wait! it looks way better during the day then glowfest ever did! and so i am super excited about the nightime aspect of it!

YAY thanks for starting this thread! I love how it has 2 pages already & it doesn't even start till tomorrow!
I am really excited to see photos and read reviews...wondering if I should make it a priority when I go next week. I already have so much stuff I wanna do during the season with only 2 days to do it!

Well, I'll be interested in seeing your pictures and reading your review. But I have to say that I'm not too thrilled about this thing. I think all those steel beams are fugly as all get out and don't fit with the HP theme. I know Glow Fest was a success and I can't understand why because it looked like a tacky 60's nightmare to me. I didn't like the first Tron movie and have no interest in the next one so that could be jading me a bit but really, I'm just not liking this thing at all. The other thing is that it's only weekends but you still have to see all that stuff up the rest of the time. I think that's just bad show.

Off topic, but when I saw this on Hollywood Blvd, I was thinking that this should be a permanent feature in a part of the park that is supposed to be about movies. I thought this based on how in WDW's Disney Hollywood Studios People like the movie aspects less and want more rides and this would be good themeing for DHS as well.

If you have every seen a movie or tv being filmed you would probably know right away why I think this is proper theming.

Now back to elecTRONica.

DH has a shift tonight but ended up taking the night off. So instead of our planned 3pm departure tomorrow (so he could get some sleep, works 7pm-7am) we are going to leave in the early, early am. Therefor we will be at the park tomorrow night. I would love to see TRON just depends on how everyone is feeling after the 6/7hr drive. Can't wait, maybe we will see you there.

With ElecTRONica Disney California Adventure replaces its summer GlowFest, a dance party popular with guests. That party served alcohol, including signature cocktails. Although Disney has not yet offered specifics as to ElecTRONica’s offerings, it is expected that adult beverages will be part of the music-dance-party mix.

I will gladly overpay by an insane amount for a drink with a cool name.

Today: Thursday 10/7 PM they were still not ready.

They were trying to install 30-40 lights on the Drawn to the Magic stage. They have cleared out the bench seats, and added a small dance stage to the back. They had 3 people in the control booth with a ton of wires everywhere and solder guns smoking.

Hopefully it will be ready for tomorrow.

I'd like to believe this, but here on the Disney Blogs Robin Trowbridge says, "For my friends out there inquiring as to whether Daft Punk will be performing for the opening of ElecTRONica on October 8, let me help put the rumors to rest. The truth is this, contrary to what may be circulating, Daft Punk will NOT be performing October 8. Still hoping to see you there for all the fun!"

I just can't see why Disney would say no if they really were going to be there... encouraging the rumor would only bring more people out to the park, right?

ok, so i told you skiingfast that it might be just a rumor-becuase the cm's i talked to say they had heard daft punk was slated to perform--but i also said it might be a rumor.. soo either way i don't expect them to perform. but it will still be fun!
