Beginning October 8th, 2010 Disney’s California Adventure will be hosting an all new nighttime dance party in honor of the remake of TRON the movie. Disney’s California Adventure has been preparing fast for this new dance party as the release of “TRON: legacy” will be out in theaters starting December 17th 2010.

This will be an all new exciting experience for any DCA park guest and families alike. Electronica is slated to bring the ‘digital world” to the dance floor with the latest hits and cool laser shows.

This is qouted from the disneyland blog:

Tonight(OCTOBER 8TH) is the first night of ElecTRONica at Disney California Adventure park]We’ve received a lot of questions on Facebook and Twitter about this weekend’s line-up, so hopefully these details help

• The fun starts in Sunshine Plaza at 6 p.m. when music, video, projections and a dance party welcome guests (a.k.a. Programs) and prepare them to enter the world of “TRON: Legacy.”
• The second performance in Sunshine Plaza starts at 6:45 p.m., and following that, the portal will officially open and all aspects of ElecTRONica will be available, including Flynn’s Arcade, TRON: Legacy Exclusive 3-D Sneak Peek, End of Line club, face painting and the TRON: Evolution video game area.
• There’s a great line-up of DJs this weekend. DJ GiangStar will be spinning tonight; DJ Michael Paul will change things up Saturday night, and DJ Derek Dunbar will be heating things up on Sunday evening.
• This weekend you can see Laserman at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For future dates, check the show guide for the schedule.
Here is some photos i took, as you can see the main stage area is ready for some action!

Funball's Review
from the opening night of
ElecTRONica

FINALLY my review is done!! Ok so let’s begin!!

Gosh ok so I totally missed the pre-show or the “opening of the portal” (because I did go opening night), and I have good reason to, a disgruntled park guest on the tram was causing quite a ruckus... anyhow so I got to DCA,I got in the gates and headed over to Sunshine Plaza just to see what the main stage area looked like after the opening show, not much different then before really. So then I immediately went to the Hollywood Back Lot. I could not believe my eyes; I could not believe that I was in DCA! It looked so different! At the end of the Hollywood Backlot was giant screen on the north end of the Hyperion Theater and I’m not sure if it was a video or a projection, but what ever was on the screen also was re-created and projected on to the surrounding buildings of Off the page, Gone Hollywood, Playhouse Disney etc., and umm it was so freaking cool!!

Under the giant screen was one of those portable bars like they had at Glow Fest, but this time it was decked out for ElecTRONica.

It didn’t take me long to figure out where the dancing and the real party was!! I headed over in that direction of Monsters Inc., it was sooooo packed with families, teenagers and adults over 21 sipping “Glowjitos”. There was not a shortage of lights or laser lights, I mean any more lasers and lights and DCA could of contacted aliens in space! But at the same time, it still had that night club feel but it was outside. The area near Monsters Inc. is way better to accommodate all those people then just having ALL the dancing on the main street area in Hollywood back lot like it was for Glow Fest. The Mickey Mouse fountain outside of Monsters had been converted into a DJ booth, with a giant Laser Chandelier! This thing was cool...in fact I know what I want in the entryway of my house now!

The music was not anything like what was played at Glow Fest; in fact it was a whole different lineup. This time it was more pop hits, but not so much Justin Bieber. They had 80’s hits like Madonna’s Like a Virgin backed with house style beats, and as the night progressed on they played more artists like Rihanna backed with maybe a bit of Daft punks Around the World. The lineup was all VERY danceable! It rocked!!

For the kids, they have face painting that is offered near Off the page for $10.00 and this what you can get:

(Thank you kaia for letting me take your photo!)

Kaia wanted me to remind you all that the face paints were glow in the dark, well at least hers was!

So I have saved the best for last. Stage 12 has been converted in a arcade, and not just any arcade... This has the old school games like Pac Man, and Zazzon and …. Wait for it... Wait for it…. Pole Position!! The arcade area was rightfully called Flynn’s Arcade, after the arcade in the original TRON movie. Oh did I mention that they also had an original TRON arcade game also. Ok well yeah they did...

ElecTRONica also had a food truck, various types of nachos were served. I heard they were pretty good. The prices are very reasonable, no more then $3.00 or $4.00.

..so have I mentioned yet about the 3D sneak preview of TRON: The Legacy..? Yeah I didn’t think I did. So yeah they had one, it rocked, I loved it! No seriously, this is one preview of a movie you do not want to miss! This preview is in 3D, shown in the Muppets 3D theater. I would get more into detail but I don’t want to ruin it for everyone-you will just have to check it out yourself!

And as for Laser Man, yeah I saw that too! It was very cool. Don’t be like me and miss half of it! LOL. Do see Laser Man perform, it’s so very cool!

...Anyhow so that concludes my review on ElecTRONica!! I hope you will truly experience this unique outdoor dance party!

p.s. I did listen to Daft Punk ‘around the world’ the whole time I was writing this! RFLOL

So you have some pictures of what they are setting up?

They started setting things up when we were there in September.

I really hope it's a nightly "party" when we're there in mid-December!

cast preview is on the 6th and 7th so ill definitely report back. :)

Funball any pictures from the back area? Are they putting up screens on any of the buildings? I saw some places that looked like the would have projections on them in the Disney concept photo you used to have on the OP.

Looking forward to some more info. I have managed to pencil in some time to see this next week. I was a big TRON fan back in the day.

This should be interesting. I like the placement, it'll help hide the take down of the sun and building of the theater.:thumbsup2

I have read on other fan sites that the cast preview for tonight was cancelled due to weather.

That is a bummer that the cast preview was canceled due to weather issues! *shaking fist at the rain* Darn you rain!!! And weather!

…I do agree, if you look at my photos, you can see the main stage area really does hide the sun wheel very well, its not the first thing you focus on when you enter the park, now your eyes go toward the Electronica stage and the countdown clock!

I will be there tomorrow night and I will have photos and a review for you all hopefully Saturday! I will do my best not to mess this up I promise! And I hope that if anyone else has a review they’d like to share it also! DCA has been making a big deal about it in my eyes(hence no Halloween décor), and so for them I hope this electronica dance party turns out just as good as Glow Fest had(RIP glow fest!)!!

Let the party countdown begin!!!! 1 MORE DAY!! ELECTRONIA STARTS TOMORROW!!

party:

Well, I'll be interested in seeing your pictures and reading your review. But I have to say that I'm not too thrilled about this thing. I think all those steel beams are fugly as all get out and don't fit with the HP theme. I know Glow Fest was a success and I can't understand why because it looked like a tacky 60's nightmare to me. I didn't like the first Tron movie and have no interest in the next one so that could be jading me a bit but really, I'm just not liking this thing at all. The other thing is that it's only weekends but you still have to see all that stuff up the rest of the time. I think that's just bad show.
