Electrical Parade still running?

"The Electrical Parade is slated to be shipped back to Anaheim this Christmas, once the sun sets early enough that DCA can pull off multiple World of Color shows and a night parade to try and balance out the maddening crowds that pack into Disneyland for the Christmas Fantasy Parade and Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks show. But after the Christmas run of the Electrical Parade, the parade route through the DCA Sun Plaza will go into heavy construction mode as part of the switch to the newly expanded DCA parade route that starts near Tower of Terror and ends near the Silly Symphony Swings."

Has anyone seen the dates for this?

Thanks. Yes, saw that. However, in the DisneyParks blog on Thursday they announced, "Just as scores of you had hoped – we’re leaving the lights on and extending Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” at Walt Disney World. By popular demand, the parade at Magic Kingdom Park will continue an open-ended run when “Summer Nightastic!” ends on August 14."

Hopefully, "open-ended" means "Christmas" and matches the information you quoted, but I believe if that were the case, they would have said so in the blog. Let's hope I'm wrong.

I'm so glad we got to see it in August 2009 at DCA before they moved it to WDW...it was a fantastic parade!! I want it back, hopefully before we are there this summer!

Is the Electrical Parade at DCA still going or has it been replaced by WOC?

No it is not at DCA anymore. It was not replaced by WOC, it was just simply taken away and given to WDW.. the reason with it going to florida has nothing to do with WOC-at least that was what I had read.

It's no problem. You just have to watch it in Florida. They ever refurbished it a bit since they were keeping it longer.

Well I just don’t think it will be coming back to DCA this summer or anytime in the future, for now it stays at WDW..and if you want to see it you will have to take a trip to WDW!

I really hope it comes back in time for our October 2011 trip but I imagine it's extended engagement at WDW will last at least until they finish the Cars Land construction in 2012. I can still remember much of this parade even though I haven't seen it since I was a teenager. Would love to see it again.

I really hope it comes back in time for our October 2011 trip but I imagine it's extended engagement at WDW will last at least until they finish the Cars Land construction in 2012. I can still remember much of this parade even though I haven't seen it since I was a teenager. Would love to see it again.

When it was in DCA it only played during the peak summer months and 2 weeks at Christmas. Right now it's supposed to be showing in WDW until at least August, and in reality I don't expect it to return to DLR at all. With WOC, DCA can't show it since the shorter parade route runs right near the WOC area, and the longer route runs right through it. DL has F! and fireworks, so trying to having it there would be a problem unless they tried to show it after the late F! only.

I am so sad to read this! I love the electrical light parade at WDW, I have been there for two different parades through the years and loved them both. I didn't realize DL wouldn't have a light parade. I don't understand why both parks can't have a light parade?

This is my all time favorite parade!! DD loved it too! I even bought the video on VHS years and years ago and we watched it and watched it and watched it. Hum, I still have it, I need to figure out how to make a DVD copy.

That's a fair question. Some people reason that since DL has two night shows, fireworks and F! that it doesn't need a third. Some reason that since WoC is so popular it doesn't need another night show.

Just my opinion but I'm hoping DCA gets a night parade. ELP or something totally new.

I was so upset when I read it would be going to WDW after I had everything set up to go to Florida. At least I got to see Spectro.
