We have an electric grill/ breakfast cooker. Do you think I could bring it with us on our stay? We are in a studio so I thought I could get creative without a stove, but I don't want to get in trouble. I have a crock pot, but you can't cook eggs and bacon in it.:smooth:

You kow, I really have no idea. Folks bring crock pots, so I don't see why not.

Does anyone know???

I bring my George Forman all the time. The maids have seen it and the bell services have seen it! Not one said no you can't use that! One even said what a great idea.

I would say certainly. How would this be any different from using a crock pot/slow cooker, "George Foreman" grill, or even the supplied toaster? The countertop is certainly capable of supporting such appliances and you'll certainly exercise the same care as you'd use at home. (Back in ancient history almost 40 years ago, when I was in college, I rented a basement "suite" that had a refrigerator and sink, but no stove. This was well before the invention of the microwave ;). I cooked many meals using my one appliance: an electric frying pan. It was actually pretty useful.)

I've thought about bringing the Foreman, too. Easy to make hot sandwiches!

That's the whole reason I bought mine! I got it on Amazon for 30- shipped. Most of the time I'll be in a studio and my dd loves pancakes, so I thought it would be perfect!:wave2:

Does anyone have the electric Foreman Grill that can be placed on a stand or on a countertop? Thats the one we have and I Looove it! We took it on our trip last year and it was great.

We stayed in a vacation home and they have rules against using charcoal or gas under the screened lanai, so the owner provided this one for use by the pool. We liked it so much we purchased our own for last year's trip.

Has anyone used one of these on a DVC patio? We will be in a 2 bdr. this June so I thought I would ask. I like my Grill much better than a stove in the summertime.

Thanks guys. I never thought about the Foreman grill. we have a T-Fal grill that converts from a small grill to a breakfast griddle. We love it and it's coated for easy cleaning. I want to try to cut corners as much as possible. That way we can spend money on other items- like pins!

I can not see why it would be a problem. But if you are concerned about it, stash it in a closet the morning they come in for trash & towel service.::MickeyMo

Only drawback that I can see would be lack of exhaust for the greasy smoke/smell. If you are at an OKW studio, the counter top there is very limited, so you don't have a lot of room for extra cooking devices. If you are in one of the other studios, you do have more room to set it up.

Deb& Bill, I cooked on the bathroom counter at OKW. It's bigger than the little counter in the stuido kitchen. Plus the exhaust is in the bathroom. Just make sure the counter is very clean!
