Electric Cars in Key West

Anyone get one of these in Key West? How are they? I found a website where they rent one for $129 for 4 hours. Tell me your experience with them and how you liked them. Thanks! VAL

Hi Val, we just returned from Key West, and rented them. We paid about 100 dollars for 3 hours. 3 hours was plenty. We had alot of fun with them. Much better than renting a regular car. We drove all over, saw all of the sites and then went to lunch. Kids thought they were really neat.. We didn't make arrangements ahead of time. We just saw them on Duval St. and went in and rented on the spot. HAVE FUN!!!!!

It cost us $149 for three hours. (we took the insurance $10 plus taxes ) Very costly! It worked out fine for us, but beware - even with the elect. cart there are few if any places to park in Key West!!! The company provides them on a 'first come, first serve' basis - they won't take a reservation. You have to call when you get off the ship and they send a van to pick you up. They wouldn't even take a call from me as we were getting ready to disembark - had to be OFF the ship.

We rented one on our last trip to KW. We rented it from an older man at street stand off of Duval St. He gave us extra time on our rental because we rented toward the end of the day. Sorry I can't remember how much. We had a get time with it. Make sure you take along a credit card and your drivers license.

Hi there - I had spoke several times with Key West Cruisers and they made me a promise that they would give the cruisers a 20% discount if anyone mentioned that I had recommended them - from what I understand it wasn't extended or given when asked for - if fact I was told by the owner's son that they work with hotels etc down there and would give me the 20% instead but I insisted it be given to those that wanted to use their service - I was very disappointed that their word wasn't kept - I will be going down in about 10 days and hope to check into the different methods of transportation down there - if anyone wants me to find out anything, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com
