Or both?

We've never used either but we know we'll need them for this trip. What do you use in cooler weather? Checking out the almanac for the last three years, it appears that lows are high 40's to high 50's, high's are 50's-70's.

I'm going to purchase a few things for our trip this weekend and I want to know what to buy.

Thanks!

We've always used a heater, never took along, or even owned, electric blankets. Just make sure you have good sleeping bags.

High 40's to low 50's in my mind calls for a sleeping bag only, but if you have little ones who you are afraid of kicking off their covers and getting cold, we have used an electric space heater with success. Make sure it has an automatic shut off feature if it tips over and that nothing is placed near the grate on the front. My borther has a portable propane heater, but it needs good ventilation and can get really hot, so I wouldn't recommend it for a tent.

In the 40's and 50's a single electric heater works perfectly in our popup. Below that and we use 2 heaters. Sleeping bags are used of course.

We have a coleman tent heater that we love. We have a large 12 person family tent that is well ventilated and the heater keeps us warm. We did an early spring camping trip here in Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains and it dropped to 31 degrees outside but we stayed warm in our sleeping bags with the heater. We hated to get out of bed to go to the bathroom!. Enjoy your trip. Lori

We use an electric mattress pad (under you as opposed to on top of you like an electric blanket). Good down to about 40 degF with sheets and one blanket. You have to unzip the flaps slightly to let moisture/breath out but it feels so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o good!:rotfl:

My vote would be for the electric blankets. We have done both, but sleep much better with the electric blankets than the heater. Being married to an electrical engineer, he has filled my head with so many horror stories that I simply couldn't sleep with the heater on. I know that it works for many people ...... great. But for me personally, the blankets do a great job without the additional worry and I'd highly recommend them.
