Election Day 2005

Is Nov. 8th this year. I was wondering if anybody's schools are closed that day.

Veterans day is the same week....Friday Nov. 11th. My kids school district in NJ is closed the whole week for the now infamous "Jersey week". I am thinking about going to WDW the whole week but I am worried about crowds.

With it being Jersey week...Veterans day...and maybe election day...if a lot of people have off that day, I think it will be extra crowded this year. Any thoughts?

It has been very crowded that week for the last couple of years. Seems like it's getting worse...but I think in 2004 it had a lot to do w/ the hurricanes and people rescheduling their trips for November. We went to WDW in mid-November both in 2003 and 2004 and hotels were completely booked all over the world during those weeks...I remember in 2003 we booked a week later just to get in our favorite hotels and this past year booked the week before Thanksgiving to preface our Thanksgiving week cruise, and boy, did we hear about the crowds we'd just missed the week before. I'd try to go the following week if you could (between the Veteran's day week and Thanksgiving is probably the best week to go in Nov, except for the last part of Nov AFTER thanksgiving weekend).
However, WDW is great even when crowded. It's always a good time--just requires a different strategy

That's why I was wondering if a lot of school districts are closed this year for election day. Because if there are a lot closed I'm sure many people will make four day weekends out of it at WDW. Then with veterans day on Friday and people take long weekends.....and Jersey Week the whole time it may be very busy.

But I do agree that even a busy Jersey week is less crowded then other peek times of the year.

Our schools in MI have never closed for election days. I hated knowing I had to get them on the bus first and then go out to the polls this last year for voting because that would mean the line would be much longer by then.

I'm from NJ and we have always had Election Day off in the past but for the first time they are keeping the schools open for 2005. The schools are only closed on the 10th and 11th but that won't be stopping us from coming anyway.

We are from NJ and have been to WDW 3 times during Jersey week - compared to late June, the crowds are not bad at all - we love it that week, as the weather is great.
